I've lived less than 1 mile from Eclips for the past year. It is absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in the southern Lake Garda area.
Eclips is run by a brother & sister partnership for nearly 10 years. Their mother makes all the pasta by hand. In fact everything is hand crafted. Generally I prefer traditional foods and eschew modern & fusion restaurants. Eclips is a notable exception. All the food there is based on traditional styles, but the dishes are marked with a subtle - but unique - originality.
For example, the black mussels cooked in a broth of celery with Roquefort cheese. Wonderful, and surprisingly understated. Or the ravioli with meat stuffing in an olive oil / butter sauce. A final personal favorite is a popular dish in the region - thin slices of steak over a bed of Rucola with an olive oil balsamic dressing and thin chips of Grana Padano cheese - a twist on the popular Bresaola / Rucola salad, but served as a main course.
