We have just returned from our second stay at this fabulous hotel. We first visited here about 3 years ago and were absolutely delighted to discover that the Hotel was as good as we remembered it to be. The staff we had dealings with were, without exception, helpful, courteous and willing to go the extra mile to ensure their guests were happy. We had a Double Top View room again and I have to say everything was excellent and the Maid kept it immaculately with good nature. The rooftop pool was closed on our last visit, we were delighted to find it open this time and spent many happy hours there just drinking in the view and lazing in the pool. Breakfasts were excellent, and they serve an range of excellent lunches.
Our only gripe, and it is a tiny one, is that they do not serve evening meals... Having said that, Sirmione has an excellent range of Restaurants within a 5 to 10 minute drive so it is not a big issue if you have a car, there are also plenty of resaurants within walking distance of the Hotel if you do not have your own transport.
We will definitely be returning to the Palace Hotel again in the future. Lake Garda has many jewels, the Palace Hotel is certainly one of them!

We stayed here for three nights recently. This hotel could be fantastic. The rooms, service and feel of the hotel gets a massive thumbs up. Couple of things that you should know - a car is almost essential, Sirmione and Desenzano are a 10 minute drive away and probably a 45 minute walk. Secondly, this 4 star hotel, doesn't serve food after 5pm. This I find odd given the location. If you don't have a car make sure you have a big lunch!!!!! That said, we really enjoyed our stay at the Palace.

Looking at the pictures from this hotel it appears idyllic, quiet and peaceful, but really it is on a main road, in fact, THE main road. It was very noisy, from the rooms, by the pool, which is located on the front road side of the hotel, from the breakfast room. We decided after looking around at the hotel that we would stay only one night and leave the next day for quieter pastures. However, the receptionist was very rude, rollng here eyes and signing heavily at our request to leave. We asked to speak to the manager, but she refused to let us, until after much perseverance we were able to. The manager, finally, decided we could leave the next day and not have to pay for the second day, and said she would sort it out in the morning. After a very uncomfortable nights sleep on a rock hard bed, the manager went back on her word from the previous evening, saying we still had to pay for the next day too! We got on the phone with our travel Booker and were able to sort it out, but only with the third party. Breakfast was basic, and the Internet only worked in the lobby. The hotel and it's rooms seemed quite clean, however it lacked any personal touch and was quite cold and austere. There are so many beautiful places to stay at the lake Garda, and this ain't one of them, no view and veery noisy. I wouldn't recommend this for it's lack of peronalality, and the unfriendly staff, not to mention above!

Stayed here for 4 nights. The hotel looks good and the room looks good. Rooms are not that big, you can call them even small. The beds are very very hard like almost everywhere in Italy. No English tv channels and no free internet (9 euro 24 hours). Swimmingpool is not heated and feels like ice-water. For a hotel like this, the pool should be heated ! Parking is okay. There are 6 or 7 parkingspaces at the property and you can park outside the property for free. Breakfast is okay, at least it was 3 out of 4 times fresh and not old (bread). The hotel looks overall very good. Because of the lookes of the hotel and the state it is in, We give it 4 in the rating instead of 3. For dining go the the center of Desenzano near the lake. Beautiful and a 10 min drive. We do recommend this hotel ! For more culture go to Sirmione also a 10 min drive. Visit the castle and the Roman ruines.

Just come back from a week at the Palace Hotel and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It's only 25mins from Verona airport. The hotel is immaculate, staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was buffet style which consisted of cereals, fruit, yogurts, cheeses, ham, tomatoes, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, sausages, bacon, bread, bread rolls, toast, pastries, jams & honey. There isn't a restaurant but who wants to eat in a hotel when there are so many lovely restaurants in both Desenzano & Sirmione. The bar serves a few snacks which is all you need at lunchtime. The room was lovely and had a balcony with a table and 2 chairs. The safe in the room is free to use and you just put in your own code. The hotel is situated between Desenzano and Sirmione. A car would make life easier but you can ask at the reception and the hotel's shuttle bus can be made available for you during the day. We did walk to Desenzano in the evening but a stroll can take 40-45mins. Taxis are a little on the expensive side. The average cost back to the hotel from Desenzano was 12-14 euros. Guests mainly seemed to be from Italy, Germany & Austria. A brilliant week.

The hotel is nice, very clean and looks very new. The pool was lovely, the rooms were a good size all with balconies over looking the lake. The roof top pool wasn't open when we were there which was a shame. The breakfast in the mornings was a bit bland, not much choice. The bar menu wasn't very extensive, we got bored of eating there and on the 3rd day decided to start going out for lunch. They don't have a restaurant for dinner. Make sure you put all your belongings in the safe as we had money stolen from our room on the first day, put a bit of a downer of the holiday.
If you aren't planning on hiring a car, don't stay here. We had to drive everywhere, there are no restaurants or shops within walking distance, it's in the middle of 2 towns and unless you want to walk 45 minutes in either direction you will have to get cabs/buses. We drove into Sirmione nearly every day, we loved Lake Garda and would stay in Sirmione if we ever go back, it was beautiful and there are lots of restaurants there.

Happened to come across this hotel on the internet. The hotel is as good as it looks on their website. It is a new hotel really clean with large rooms and balconies and an exceptionally helpful staff. The managers and receptionists are really helpful and welcoming. There is a lovely clean pool and the views from the 2nd and 3rd floors are fab. Breakfast is a really nice selection. I would agree that a car is almost essential but this hotel is highly recommended. A special thanks to Anja, the receptionist from Wales, who helped and advised us on our initial booking.
