The Cathedral was very well maintained, the artifacts are explained in many languages, There are areas to light candles and pray your troubles away

“A quiet atmosphere”
Reviewed October 4, 2013

This is one of the more modest cathedrals of Tuscany: but that means it is not full of tourists and preserves a calm that is often lost elsewhere.

“Interesting but nothing more”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

There are several cathedrals and churches in Tuscany, and even though the Volterra Duomo is impressive in its own way, it probably isn't one of the top 10 churches in the region. We found it to be a little simple. There are much better attractions to enjoy in Volterra, such as the Etruscan museum (recommended!), the roman theatre, or even just walking along the ancient streets in town, touring the little alabster shops (one of our favourite parts of the visit).

“Glad we went in”

Really nice town. This is a great Duomo for a provincial little town. It's not worth making the trip especially to see the Duomo but it's worth it if you're in Volterra for the day.

“Pretty Cathedral”

Very pretty, small Cathedral. As of all Cathedrals - make sure you are fully covered if you are wanting to go inside.
