“Warm welcome, Great family, Fantastic”
Reviewed September 18, 2012

We just end up at Orgiaglia by chance, following a road unkown to us in a "let's get lost in the Tuscan countryside" day. We just spend few hours with Franco's family and taste some Tuscan style specialities. Awesome. Truly recommendable. It was a wonderful experience that cheer us up the rest of the day. Thank you guys, you are the best,
Simo and Neus from Barcelona.

It really is isolated but the welcome you get makes it more than worth while. The food is rustic and hearty and meals together are amazing fun. Franco, Umberta and their daughters go out of their way to create a relaxing family atmosphere. We had wonderful evenings, lovely meals, international games of table football and were very close to nature. Horses, cats, the lovely dog called Oliver and the gorgeous goat all helped to create a very beautiful environment. Scenery is just stunning and waking up to sunshine over the Tuscany hills is heartwarming. Find some time and go and relax, I have never slept so well! - that could have a lot to do with the Chianti and Grappa, as well as the perfect peace that surrounds the place.

This is a superb location, wonderfully atmospheric farm. In the middle of beautiful countryside with no near nieghbours, Very peaceful. the most friendly run family hotel/farm you will find. Everyone eats at the same table and it is a terrific atmosphere. The food cooked by Franco (the owner) is excellent quality and quantity. Meals last for hours, The wine flows and is followed by local Grappa or other liqures. Large swimming pool. Horse riding and plenty of pets. Every one is so friendly and relaxed.

We were here mid June with my parents.

This is an amazing place for a relaxing break. Fantasic food, company and service. We all really enjoyed the walking in the area and relaxing by and in the pool.

The family are so welcoming and we definately left a few pounds heavier from the amazing food!!!

The grounds here are wonderful, over 100 acres of land, where most of the food comes from. Fresh, seasonal and very tasty!

This is rustic Tuscany at it's best.

Both.

The family provides a warm welcome and the formula for dinner- eating with the family and other guests at a long table is good fun. The setting overlooking the Tuscan hills is great.

BUT by the looks of it since the original investment in doing the place up (twenty plus years ago?) its been down hill all the way with minimal maintenance including a swimming pool that is definitely a health hazard with dead insects, scum and a strange white powder covering the steps ino the water. In the two days we were there nobody swum despite the sun. Our room had a shower that didn't work and lights similarly- we had to use the communal shower for the caravan site which also didn't have a light. The water supply was intermittent.

We stayed here as part of a Headwater walking holiday and my guess is that it survives because of their walking schedule- it shouldn't without a complete overhaul of the basics ie water, electricity, rooms and that swimming pool.

Orgiaglia is set deep in the Tuscan countryside in the Berignone Nature Park, yet is within easy reach of San Gimignano, Siena, Florence. The views all around are stunning and natural. The atmosphere is one of peace and tranquility. It is a family run establishment and nothing is too much trouble. The hospitality and service are magnificent. The accommodation is clean and very comfortable with en-suite bathroom.
There are some wonderful walks in the Tuscan countryside as well as horse riding and a great swimming pool to cool off in or just sit beside and relax in its sunny aspect. The food is excellent and dinner in the evening is typical Italian style with everybody gathered together around the table and all joining in in wonderful party mood. You soon relax and make new friends.
