Another great place in this region. Try the appetizer "platter" it comes with varies bruschetta and different cuts of salami, prosciutto etc... Had several dishes here on my 2 week stay. Even the spaghetti with meat sauce was terrific!

We have visited this restaurant several times and have never had a bad meal or service.
If you go at lunchtime ask for the fixed lunch menu which is excellent and includes wine and water. Many locals eat there which is a good sign and in the autumn the hunters pay a visit to eat. The food is well prepared and cooked and the menu varied.
The owner is charming and welcoming. Highly recommended.

Just read all the other remarks. Good food and nice atmosphere. Even the kids loved it with a playground around the corner...

I jotted down the name of this restaurant, based on the reviews here, before our trip to the Volterra area. We were not disappointed. Nice athmosphere, attentive service and delicious food. Actually, this was the only restaurant in 18 days eating out in Italy where we received small, extra touches with our dinner that we did not order or paid for. Lovely surpriseses. Everywhere else I had the impression that the Italian restaurant establishment is out to get the tourists money, and they do it with (among other things) jacked up, high restaurant prices. Also, travelers, beware of the "cover charges"!

Sunday lunch on a rainy September day. We sat inside and embarked on one of the most indulgent, calorie filled, amazing meals ever. We both had ravioli to start and these guys are not mean with their portion sizes! I had ricotta, truffle and walnut flavour, whilst the other half had the house sauce, which is basically a ragu. Both were stunning. For main course we decided to share the fiorentino. They only had pretty large size left so we knew we were in for a marathon task to demolish it!! We also ordered fries and roasted vegetables to accompany it. Our mouths watered with anticipation, and my, we were not disappointed! This was the largest T bone I have ever seen, and was cooked beautifully with some parts medium, some rare, but all juicy and succulent. We finished with a gelato and a tiramisu as well as coffees and liquorice liqueur. The staff were excellent and we had the added pleasure of a singing duo who were performing for a 50th wedding and were very good. A perfect interlude to a rainy Sunday in Tuscany. We will return.
