Relais Paradosso
Ranked #32 of 101 Viterbo B&B and Inns

I got a nice apartment with a view facing the gorgeous gardens with the fountain and the ducks walking around. The garden was just amazing, and i was alone there reading and enjoying for a whole day. Only thing i could hear was the birds singing in the trees and the ducks walking around in the grass.
The room was very roomy and comfortable. Paradosso is located in the absolutely best part of Viterbo which is the stunning medieval quarters.
The hostess Cristina is a very colorful personality and will take care of you very well during your stay.
Breakfast was a bit limited, but in the room you have a fridge and cooking possibilities (at least i had in my room), so if you don't like the breakfast offered, just make your own int the room!
Make sure to have dinner at the amazing garden restaurant in the super romantic surroundings and delicious food.
Excellent value for your money.
I loved my 2 night stay at Paradosso and would absolutely love to return some day.

We booked an overnight stay here on our way from Rome airport to Le Marche. Next time we will make sure that we stay longer. The hotel is spotlessly clean and Crystina is a gem!! The restaurent is lovely and it was so nice eating out late in such a beautiful garden. It is right in the middle of the oldest part of this beautiful town. A most woderful introduction to Italy for us!

A potentially beautiful place destroyed by the people who run it with incompetence and arrogance. The woman who claims to be the boss but accepts no responsibility and apparently never heard that in the service industry the client is always right is extremely impolite! Room was cold with a thermostat that ticked like a bomb, light pore in through the insufficient blinds as soon as the sun rises, there is nothing medieval in the style of room number 4, and breakfast was a sloppy attempt just to put something down on the table. And watch out because if you complain the manager Cristina will insult you and call the cops!!

Room Tip: Avoid this hotel if you are looking for calm and peace because the management is problematic!

We stayed in a junior suite - it was on two levels - downstairs kitchen and upstairs bedroom, bathroom and a balcony. The room was warm and beautifully decorated - like a castle! Kitchen and bathroom were well equipped. We had the key to the garden which is gorgeous! Breakfast was good enough and staff very polite and helpful. 10 mins walk from Porta Romana station.

Water pressure was low when trying to take a shower one morning - but after a couple of minutes everything was fine - I guess someone else was trying to take a shower at the same time in the rooms next door!

I loved this place and would highly recommend it!

The most wonderful place to stay. Right in the centre of the medieval quarter. Full of charm and with the most fantastic staff. Crystina, the boss, is worth the price of admission alone. We stayed for four nights and were very comfortable and felt as though we were special because of the attitudes of the staff. The rooms are spottlessly clean and the garden is a delight. It is very odd staying in an Italian city when all you can hear at night is the gentle quacking of the ducks in the garden below. It pains me to have to tell everybody how lovely this place is because I don't want lots of people to stay there. It's mine - keep out!
Ultimately I think that it should not be called Il Paradosso but Il Paradiso instead.

Room Tip: The rooms all have views. Just say what you want and the glorious crystina will try to give it to yo...

We found this place with not too much trouble using a GPS. We got a junior suite with a small balcony as promised - lots of stairs! The room was very small with no place to put our luggage, so we had to leave it in the kitchen area. We only stayed one night so it really was not too much of a problem. There was a bit of a smell from the shower and bathroom sink. The pool was very small and more of a place to cool off. The gardens looked a bit unkempt and rundown. The restaurant was closed on the night we stayed, however, we found an amazing pizza place with a wood fired oven not too far away. The lady at the reception was very friendly and helpful.

There is no better place in Viterbo to stay then in "Il Paradosso", a secret spot with lots of character. I stayed there for 4 nights and had a very pleasant stay in old medieval walls. Everything was very clean. The rooms are great size and tastefully furnished, kitchenette and bathroom, more room that I needed, bed was very comfortable and I had a view in the very old beautiful courtyard garden with a pond, ducks and olive trees. Staff were very friendly and kind to me, very personal special service! I missed out on the attached restaurant, which supposed to be very great, you can sit in the nice garden and enjoy the atmosphere. It's a fantastic place where you can enjoy quietness and flair especially after a trip to Rome. Can recommend "il paradosso" from all points of value, atmosphere, location, service. A great memory to take from bella Italia, which doesn't disappoint.
