Tre Re, has a long and interesting history. Started in the 1600s, the cozy restaurant presents an antique charm. The problem is that this place is coasting on its reputation. The staff was less than friendly and the food was average (which admittedly is better than average food in the United States).
In a city with so many wonderful places to eat, this tourist trap should be avoided. Perhaps a new, enthusiastic owner (or one making half an effort) can breathe new life into this tired tavern. My family has travelled to Viterbo for years and our first visit will be our last.
