We stayed in Cormoran for two weeks in second half of September in 2011. Despite this is time right before hotel closing a weather is quite nice - around 29C mainly with few rainy days - and it is possible to swim in the sea every day. As well there were not much guests - had no problems to get seats in first line at the beach, not noisy after 11pm.
The greatest thing there is a beach - sandy, wide, long and clean, 50 meters from a living room. Water is salty and very clear. No watersport and boats around this time. Sun chairs and umbrellas are free, while sun beds are for a fee. There may be queue for best seats at first line on the beach.
We were surprised a lot that small bottles of water in a room are not complimentary and cost around 2 euro (~50 eurocent for 2l bottle in store on the road). Internet wi-fi connection (ADSL based, low speed actually) available at piano bar/reception only. There is a problem to speak English for anyone except few persons on bar and reception. A breakfast is poor for 4* hotel: corn flakes, fruits, cheese, ham, salami, cold boiled eggs, bread and cakes - same for every day. Dinner price in restaurant is 35 Eur per person for menu of italian type.
There are two places to eat around the hotel. il Miraggio - ristorante on the beach in 5 min walking distance with seafood orientation. Mussels are extremely delicious here. Prices are ~10 Eur for antipasta, 12 eur for pasta, 13 eur for fish and meat, 4-5 for "contorno". Home wine is for 4 eur per 500 ml. Su Giganti is the restaurant in hotel across a road with same prices and pizzas in menu. Note feature of italian cuisine - dishes are directly that is written in menu. So meat dish is just a piece of grilled meat, fish is not even gutted and prawns are unpeeled in pizza too.
There is a store on a road to buy food to prepare in rooms with kitchen. Price for wine starts from 2 eur per liter
The Villasimius village is in 7 min driving or 40 minutes walking to go (yeah, there is a route which starts from the beach to go along a hill with only 5 min to go along a driveway). Souvenirs, ice cream, few cool places to eat and rent scooter or car.
Renting scooter (27 euro in low season + 300 euro deposit) it is possible to visit few good beaches, small port and recovered forts around. Nothing more to see in 30-minutes-to-go radius.
