To put this review in perspective my partner and I are 'comfortable' financially but still like good value for money!

The Pullman Timi Ami was excellent in most areas with only a few things on the negative side - so I will start with the bad and leave you with the good!

A number of things on the pricing structure seem not to have been thought through. Many of the drinks are simply ridiculous - even a large bottle of water is around €7 so you certainly don’t have much to drink! Alcohol is also very expensive and, while good quality, the cheapest bottle of wine is around €25. The hotel also has a number of very stylish sunbeds with large double soft cushions and drape covers - but at €50 per day I never saw them used!! So if you like value for money and, sitting by the pool with a Bacardi and Coke every hour or so, this is not the hotel for you!!

WiFi in Room is free; however....... the system to get on line, which involves allocation of complex codes for every 24 hours of usage, is simply ridiculously complex - getting an and off the system is so complex I almost lost the will to live!! It's also device specific so if you want a phone and laptop on line you need to get 2 codes - another completely unnecessary complexity!!

On the neutral side, the rooms are spotless and a reasonable size - with a small balcony and 2 deck chairs. They are VERY quiet despite normal hotel noise. Beds are also a good size and comfortable.

On the positive side the food is fantastic! We were on half board and had a buffet style breakfast and evening meal. Each evening meal had some subtle changes every day of our 1 week stay and the evening meals were themed - Mediterranean, Sardinian, Italian etc. Both quality and variety were stunning and the service excellent - a real plus!!

The pool is large and very rarely busy - it was also the perfect temperature for a casual swim or a cool down. It has plenty of sun loungers and some large doubles that were very comfortable (which made the cost of the drape covered versions even more ridiculous!!). The small gym was also good (but we did not use it!) and the hotel has 4 high quality astro-turf tennis courts and a football court - we played a lot of tennis and court availability was good. Evening entertainment was also varied. Mostly shows of some sort - Oz, Queen, Swing etc - some excellent dancing and theatrics that would suit all tastes.

The staff, the general scenery and the hotel facilities could not be faulted which resulted in a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday. Finally, I would recommend a hire car - Sardinia has plenty of sights to see and some really good boat rides - well worth seeing.

Overall, with the exception of the pricing issue and the complex WiFi system, I would fully recommend the Timi Ami - a great holiday location.

Room Tip: Get a beach view room and the buggest you can afford

Dear Stuart B,
Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience following your stay at Pullman Timi Ama Sardegna.
We regret the standards of some service fell short of your expectations and we would like to explain that some of our services offered a tailor made and customized aspect for guests who want more privacy and intimacy and that’s why we propose this type of private services with the dedicated area (lounge gazebo and large sunbeds).
Regarding our wifi connection, we inform you that the Italian law requires the identification of every guest for any kind of internet connection. That’s why this system of password and id code is till now obliged for our guests and doesn’t really match with the rest of the European type of connection.
We thank you for your comments that encourage our staff to progress every day, we hope to welcoming you again upon your next stay, trying then to regain your confidence.
Yours sincerely,
Patrick Recasens,

We stayed for three nights and would for sure come back. We are experienced travellers and this hotel is among the best in Italy we have seen. Could recommend to buy half board, the buffet is huge and include lobster, grilled meat, cheeses, numerous of pasta dishes and a great varity of desserts. The same goes for the breakfast. During lunch you can enjoy tables in the shadow with water sprinkles above in order to lower the outdoor heat. The pool is large and deep. The surroundings are amazing with different beaches to walk and also nice jogging trails around the hotel. We did not use the gym, but it seemed nice but a little bit small maybe.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel, it is more of a 2 star hotel, service is bad, rooms are not totally cleaned, spa is very basic and not clean, and shuttle service to Villasimius is inexistent.
I believe it is worth staying at Tanka Village next door, which is much nicer.
The only good thing is the beach which is beautiful, but then again you better stay at another hotel and enjoy the beach.
Btw, to be on a long chair for the day on the beach of the hotel, you need to pay 50 euros, this is ridiculous....

Dear Anonymous N,

We thank you for the time you’ve dedicated in writing this comment.
We are sorry to read that our resort hasn’t met your expectations and that you would have preferred to stay in another hotel.
All our service are precisely presented through the brochures and presentation that we send to our future guest during the booking request, on our different website and through the website and agencies who propose our resort. We offer to our guest a free shuttle to Villasimius according a planning 5 times per day. Regarding the payment of the first two rows, we are sorry to read that you didn’t appreciate this service that we propose to our guest in the high season. It allows us to manage the umbrellas and sun chairs situation and offer you the choice to book or not your sun chair in advance.
You have to consider that from the 3rd row at only 5 meters from the sea, all the sun chairs are totally free of charge and we also offer the beach towels free of charge. It’s a special service that we propose exclusively for our guest.

We do hope to have the occasion to regain your confidence during a second stay.
Best regards

Thanks to other reviews here we had a great holiday at this resort hotel.

We travelled as a couple with our daughter (nearly two).

Good advice from other reviews:

Agree: It is probably a 4* plus. The rooms are not as good as other parts of the hotel but we had a Garden View Suite (which has the advantage of a bit more space and a bath). It was basically a bigger room. we did not see the other size.

Agree: The post supper entertainment was nice (and our daughter along with all the young children was enthralled with a Baboo - an orange dog mascot who led children's dancing at about 9:30). The main entertainment starts about 10am each night. The entertainment is loud and if you don't intend to be out there each night I can understand why people who paid for a sea view may have objected to it. We followed advice in other reviews and got the Garden View which was quiet.

It is not a 'family hotel' but there were loads of other families with children there and we were made to feel very welcome at all times.

It has a great sandy beach (according to other guests, one of the best in Sardinia).

Hotel is a short taxi ride to a little town (Villasimius) - which was nice for a bit of variety. The complementary minibus to the village is very popular and we were never organised enough to get a free place (realistically you have to book the day before).

The hotel arranged a transfer from the Airport (115 Euros each way).

Food excellent buffet breakfast and supper. Food and drink bought at the resort are 'fully priced' (as is normal for this sort of hotel) with the usual additional 10% service charge on top. If you like wine with meals and an occasional drink by the pool, the bill will mount up quickly.

There is a great pool (which is quite deep and was unheated -at least on the first two days). Service was usually excellent, with one unfortunate exception at the weekend when busy.

We had a great time and the hotel has some additional nice touches. Happy to recommend.

Room Tip: Garden room and treat yourself to the suit if you can.
