The property is situated on the hillside above the beach/breakwater. It has a very large room, very comfortable bed, nice well equipped kitchen, good bathroom (the shower drainage was rather slow) and plenty of storage. The outside terraces and seating are wonderful. There are two huge retractable awnings when we wanted shade. Access to the property was mentioned in reviews and the main advert. There are 100 steps up from the beach road below and at least the same up from the property to the main road above. It was manageable and good exercise for us (over 70 one with knee replacements and smallish carry-on cases!) Francesca contacted us before our arrival by text which was really helpful, so we kept her informed about our travel plans. As a result she was waiting for us at Vico Equense station and drove us to the house in under five minutes! She showed us round, giving us lots of tips and instructions. Her English is excellent. The beach is lovely and was quiet in mid September. There are several cafes and bars to sit in if you don’t want to have a sun bed. We liked Vico Equense, it’s a nice little town. It was a better choice for us than Sorrento, with far fewer tourists and mainly Italian visitors. We discovered a good supermarket, and there are good places to eat, especially Cerase which Francesca recommended. We didn’t have a car, the Curreri Viaggi bus stops by the Circumvesuviana station, as well as the local SITA bus. You’ll need to buy mosquito coils and Deet.
