“Fish rules!”
Reviewed July 6, 2012

An very good restaurant for everybody who loves fresh fish and seafood (they offer a few meat dishes but fish and seafood are their focus). Nothing fancy, very relaxed, a solid and fairly-priced wine list and friendly service are the core ingredients that make Cabreo a favorite among locals and - mostly Italian - tourists. Some may call it a bit "old-fashioned" but that is part of their success. About Euro 40 a person.

“Eat where the locals dine”
Reviewed June 26, 2012

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel (Principe di Piemonte). Cabreo is family run, depends upon the locals, and we appeared to be the only Americans in the restaurant. For antipasto my wife had Melone e Proscuitto (which was the best of the trip), and I had bruschetta (fresh, simple, and very good). We skipped the pasta course. For Segundo my wife had the veal scallopine and I had mixed grilled fish (fish, calamari, shrimp). Both were very good. With a nice bottle of wine, the total came to 72 €. The service was warm and caring; like eating at your Italian aunt’s home.

“Hidden away but worth seeking out”
Reviewed October 8, 2011

In a little side street off the main drag this unpretentious little family run restaurant seems sleepy from the outside but after going through a hallway and into the back rooms it widens out and was quite busy the night we were there. Good for fish, this is a no-nonsense restaurant with fairly brisk service and minimal interaction. It's quite brightly lit so not really the romantic dining option but the food was fresh, well cooked and the portions were generous. We enjoyed our meal but the experience was maybe a little lacking. There seemed to be many locals dining which is always a good sign and maybe the emphasis was on the food on the table first and foremost. That succeeded but we didn't feel inclined to go back a second time. But it's certainly worth a visit.
