“Nice tourist town”
Reviewed October 25, 2012

There's much to do for travellers in Tropea, even in the off season. Many restaurants and small shops.

“Quaint town, beautiful beaches”
Reviewed October 23, 2012

Tropea is a magical find in Calabria, a quaint town with large parts almost in ruin - has a feel of Venice about it (but on land not water!). Lots of small cobbled lane ways to get lost in, some good shopping (Via Roma) and excellent restaurants - with openings at 6 pm - early by Italian standards! Plenty of gelaterias vying for your tastebuds with tantalising signs of tartufo everywhere...

“Its where the Italians go for holidays”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

Tropea is just the best if you want Italian food and company. Go on the boat trip to Panarea and go to Casa Roda for a good reasonably priced home cooked meal. When you get to Stromboli get a taxi up into the town as the beach area is horrible. The volcano is spectacular spewing red hot lava!

“Attractive and lively”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

Perched high on a rock with a wonderful beach at its feet, this small attractive town boasts a well preserved historic centre. There you will also find most of the shops and restaurants, which gives the place its festive atmosphere.
