“Fantastic Location”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2012

The Geier Hotel is perfectly situated right on the lake and the views from our bedroom window were fabulous. The room itself was clean and bright but the bathroom was absolutely tiny with a shower that sprayed the whole area.... I don't know how many towels we used to mop up!! Reception area was bright and modern and on the whole staff were pleasant. Breakfast was basic but that didn't really bother me, however dinner was unacceptably dreadful! There are lots of nice places to eat nearby so I would recommend Bed and Breakfast only.

Spent three nights here as part of a Newmarket Holiday to Lake Garda/Austria. The hotel is right on the Lake itself we had a lovely lake view room. We stayed half board the food was ok. The restaurant side doesn't belong to the hotel so you felt like they didn't want to be bothered and wanted paying guests. Breakfast was a free for all but with a little more organisation it could be better. Our rep Terry was very knowledgable about the area and was always there if needed.

Room Tip: For what we paid I was happy with the trip.

Stayed at this hotel recently as part of the Newmarket Lake Garda/Austrian Tyrol package. The food was awful and the staff rude.

I will not be back here.

Visited Hotel Geier as part of a Newmarket tour to Lake Garda and Austria. The hotel is situated on the lakeside and in the the centre of town. The room was clean and fairly comfortable, the reception adequate but the food and service terrible.Breakfast was limited and a self service arrangement meant that unless you were early not much food was left. The dinner was even worse with poor quality food served by innefficient staff. For example soup served without spoons, second course served before first finished,no butter for rolls etc, etc.

Spent three nights at the Hotel Geier as part of a Newmarket Holiday to the Austrian Tyrol and Lake Garda. Although the hotel is ideally situated on the edge of the lake and central to the town the hotel accommodation and facilities were very disappointing. Our room was very small, located in the eaves of the building with a slanted ceiling and a solid wooden beam at an angle of 45 degrees from the centre of the ceiling to a corner of the room - thus restricting use of part of the room. Views of the lake could only be achieved by either standing on one of the single beds and peering through the Velux roof window or by laying on the floor to look out of a small window at floor level. The room was advertised as twin bedded - not sure what the correct term means. We had two single beds at either end of the room. Meals were not served in the hotel restaurant but in a room at street level with part used as a walk in cafe. Breakfast items were very restrictive and unless you were prompt, once the items had become exhausted they were not replenished. Service at dinner was chaotic, waiting staff not having a planned system. Some guests being served dessert whilst others were waiting for starters - on one occasion the kitchen ran out of soup, although all meals were pre ordered. On two occasions the main course meat dishes were far too overcooked. The only good comments I can make are that rooms were clean and serviced on a daily basis and the staff very friendly.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms at the top of the building.

The staff cannot do enough for their guest's. Lovely and clean and right on the lake side. Highly recommended.

Stayed at this hotel late september 2011 on a package holiday.Room was clean but quite small,no window view as room was over the kitchen and we had staff below talking and smoking.Reception was poor as only the son could speak english, mum just kept saying ask Hugo.No lounge to sit in,only reception area.Breakfast room opened at 7am,not good for early day trips or departure days,Brilliant location but let down by management.
