This year I stayed at Todi for the third time, again for 2 weeks. My apartment was conveniently close to this charming, authentic trattoria. Therefore, I have eaten here 4 times. Service was always very friendly, prices low, and I found the food tasteful. It's a real traditional trattoria, with a lot of local clientele, which I liked. If you look for fancy, more upscale dining and a more daring menu, look further, but to have a good tasty meal at a good price, with friendly service, you should really try Piero e Silvana.

I am fortunate to have visited Todi many times over the past few years and I always make it a point to have dinner at Da Piero e Silvana. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and so are the people. Silvana prepares the dishes (try the lasagna tartufo!) using only the freshest ingredients from the antipasto (best crostini ever) to the meats (including wild boar (cinghiale), rabbit (coniglio) and pigeon (piccioni)) to the dessert (homemade tiramisu in cups). If you're really lucky, Piero will come to your table, place a slice of pecorino in front of you, drizzle some honey and then sprinkle it with ground espresso beans. The flavor is out of this world ... but it's not on the menu. He just does it as a gesture of friendship.

Just ate here today after testing our cardiac/leg strength walking the steep streets of Todi. We stopped on our walk back down to our car. So glad we did! This was one of the best casual meals we had on our trip. Firstly, all the waitresses & the owner smiled at us despite the busy day they were having on All Saint's Day. The inside was totally full but we were offered one of the two outside tables in front, which I was glad to have to enjoy the cool air. The inside looked lovely, bright & welcoming also. The service was prompt & efficient despite the many patrons inside. We were not ignored at all by the two lovely young ladies serving. The food came out quickly, hot from the kitchen. The two pastas we had were both fresh & flavorful, the sausage was good, bread was excellent (the best bread in 3 weeks & heated too!). Total cost of the meal = 44 euro ( I liter water, 2 cokes, 0.5 liter house wine, 1 antipasti, 2 primi pastas, 1 secondi (sausage), caffe latte and cover charge). Good value compared to other meals on our trip.

Since we are staying in Orvieto, it was too far to return at night for dinner. Had it been more convenient, we both agreed we would have been happy to eat more meals here!
