The service was very friendly, and fast. However, some of the dishes we had were rather tasteless, although probably very healthy (vegetable soup and the lamb grill), while some dishes (pasta with mushroom sauce) were very nice. The interior decorations are quite nice and atmospheric.

Amazing....great place. Nice and cool inside. Food was fantastic and the fixed menu was a bargain. Would definitely recommend.

We sat outside the restaurant and had a nice view at a piazza. We ordered a bottle of wine and two different pasta meals. One with a mushroom sauce and the other one with a sauce made out of game meat.
The wine we wanted to have, a typical local white wine called Passerina, had been sold out. So we had to change and take another grape. We didn't like the wine very much. The price was reasonable. We didn't get a wine cooler... so we had to ask for it.
Also they didn't bring us Parmesan for the Pasta. The table next to us got one, so I think they forgot about it.
The pasta itself has been Tagliatelle. Nothing to complain about it. But... the two sauces. First the sauce made out of game meat. Color grayish. Taste ...hard to describe since almost none except a musty one. The meat has been minced. I couldn't find anything else like tomatoes, herbs, onions, etc. in the sauce than meat. That might have been the reason why the taste has been so dull and the color was grayish.

A similar experience with the mushroom sauce. In this sauce I could at least find some herbs and mushroom pieces. The sauce itself has been very thick and had a musty taste. I couldn't taste the herbs.. It looked like paisley.

We ate half of the mushroom pasta and almost nothing of the pasta with the game meat. And here you can see how the restaurant cares about their customer. If I return an almost complete plate it is usual to ask the customer what went wrong. They didn't. A careful waiter would see, that you don't eat your dinner and check why to solve the things ahead. They didn't. But they did care about our money. They charged us the full menu even though we almost didn't eat it. That shows their attitude. Care about the money of the customer and not about their good experience. I wish they would have cared at first about the customer.

There are much better restaurants in Sulmona where I had excellent experiences.

We were visiting Sulmona and came across this restaurant in the old town. The place was clearly understaffed because the young waitress was shuttling back and forth hurriedly. There was no one else around. I felt sorry for her. The food was of good quality though, no complaints there. My recommendation to the ownership: more light and another waiter.

We went here on finding it thinking it was a lucky find. Traditional
Medieval restaurant for the city of sulmona. Our friend is vegetarian and it promotes veg friendly. After explaining he was vegetarian he was offered vegetable soup and pasta for the turistico menu.
The soup had a piece of meat in it very large chunk and then lots of smaller pieces. We were told it is cooked in animal lard and scraps for flavour!!! After 30 years of not eating meat or products this was very disturbing. No apology or offer to change the dish not finished!!
Then 6 people ordered only 5 ate as the 6th meal didn't turn up even after asking for it 3 times. The other meals were suppose to be bistecca -beef but came as pork only to be told the beef is too expensive for the touristic menu!!
What a disaster. The waitress really couldn't have cared less about the mistakes. It could have been nice if she had sorted her act out!!! Wouldn't risk it again.
