“Exceptional hotel in charming italian city”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 12, 2013

Alla Posta is a very nice hotel -- old one but renovated deeply in 2012. It is close to very beautiful old church – really worth to see. There are some bars, shops and restaurants in the neighborhood. Spa and wellness is more than ok. Good starting point for skiing in all Aosta valley: Monte Rosa, Pila, La Thuile, Courmayer and Cervinia. Good restaurant, and very firndly and helpful personnel.

Stayed in a standard room (maybe a mistake) and in this case, the hotel is indeed "average". The reception and the entire building is very nicely renovated but these standard rooms are small, with a less than average bathroom and overlooking a noisy street.Maybe the comfort rooms are better ? We also didn't make use of the spa area as we only stayed one night and the spa is not open in the morning.
Finally, coincidence or not, even though the hotel is fitted out with the latest technology, the air condition in our room didn't work and we woke up at 26 degrees in our room. The next morning the lift didn't work and we had to carry our luggage down all by our-selvels.
The breakfast room is depressing and breakfast it-self is average (coffee is extremely bad !!!)

On the bright side, the staff at reception was very friendly and helpful.

I guess a good overnight stay with clean and nice premises, but potentially a bit overpriced.

Room Tip: Don't go for the standard rooms and refuse rooms that overlook the street above the hotel

We stayed one night. Newly renovated, tastefully done, clean with friendly service at a good location. Bedding really comfortable! The only con for our stay was the heating, it seemed to want to turn the room into a sauna.. We told them to check it out, but our stay wasn't long enough to find out if it was a "once off"...

Very nice hotel totally renovated in a fashion way.
Very sympathic waitresses at the breakfast and very good breakfast too.

Rooms are a little small but with a quite spacious bathroom.

Just in front of the thermal bath entrance!

The room was spacious, modern and clean and had a great view overlooking the main piazza. The wellness area although small, was set in Roman ruins and had a lovely sauna and steambath along with a small pool and relaxation area. It was somewhat expensive as it was not included in the room rate. The restaurant served an adequate dinner, but it was very simple, although the fruit was some of the most delicious I have ever had. The clientele were primarily retirees, with very few younger customers or families. Staff were very helpful. The hotel was a good base to explore the Aosta village, and it was decent value for the money.

Newly refurbished family run hotel in the centre of the town. Friendly staff, comfortable well furnished rooms with nice touches. Small spa in the basement, well worth booking a "comfort" room as this facility is then included in the room rate, which, incidentally, was very reasonable. If you want to stay in Aosta Valley, this hotel has much to commend it. They were building a new restaurant when we were there in May, and this is needed as the room we dined in was a bit small and tired, but this was the only drawback of a very enjoyable stay. Try it, you won't be disappointed. Due to building work in the town, there was a confusing one way system which made the hotel hard to find! It is at the east end of the high street almost opposite the old spa baths.

Room Tip: They are just finishing new penthouse rooms on the top floor and if these are now available, take on...
