This is a lovely hotel in an old building on a piazza near the centre of town. Despite being on the piazza it was not at all noisy as there doesn't seem to be much traffic, although I think my husband was bothered by people carousing at one stage. We had a corner room with windows on two sides so it was very bright, and it very spacious compared with some others we stayed in in Italy, and beautifully furnished with parquet floors and bay windows with fancy curtains. They also have parking for which I think you have to pay extra. Staff were helpful as usual.

We stayed only one night- Spoleto is a beautiful town and well worth a visit. This hotel is located centrally, but in a quiet square close to the main shopping ateas snd squares. The rooms are big and gorgeous- we were pleasently suprised at the value for the price: white bedding, new furniture, bay windows and parquet floors. Breakfast was great. Good variety and fantastic coffee. I would recommend this hotel

Spoleto has much of interest to see, and can also be a good base for visiting other places, with Orvieto and Assisi about an hours drive away. The Charleston is located near the bottom of the ancient part of the town and is easily reached by car. It is close to several sites of interest including the Roman Amphitheatre and Archaeological Museum. A more or less level 10/15 minute walk through winding streets leads to an escalator that goes up to the impressive Rocca at the top of the town (otherwise it's a fairly stiff uphill walk). A short distance downhill from the Rocca are the Duomo, Town Hall, Roman House and other sites. Reception at the Charleston was very welcoming and, throughout our stay, without exception, the staff were courteous, friendly and helpful. Our room was large and airy, spotlessly clean, the bathroom 'plumbing' all worked efficiently, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was simple but adequate. Compared to some other hotels we have experienced in Italy and elsewhere, the Charleston is excellent value.

Room Tip: There is wheelchair access into the hotel, and by lift to bedrooms. We are unsure if the lift goes d...

I purchased a stay at this hotel through Groupon after reviewing trip advisor and seeing very positive reviews. I also liked the photos shown- modern and spacious rooms- perfect for a couples getaway. My package included a fruit basket and sauna entry. Upon arrival, the front desk was very helpful and friendly. She recommended places to eat and was generally friendly and helpful. I wanted to visit the sauna but there was another couple in the sauna for the afternoon getting massages, but the staff did allow me to have a late check out the next day and use the sauna in the morning. Spoleto was charming. However, my review is only three stars because the room I stayed in was nothing like the rooms pictured on the website- no view, quite small, old tile and a shower I couldn't stand up straight it. The fruit basket promised was a plate with a banana, apple and orange... I would return to the hotel again but only after making sure I was staying in one of the newly renovated rooms.

We had a very good time in Spoleto, the hotel is very well located and the staff treated us very kindly. We recomend the hotel for couples or even families. The rooms are clean, and the breakfast was very nice. It was winter time, and I am sure the hotel looks even better in the summer. Spoleto is very nice little town, and there is many other wonderful ones around. Assisi is just marvelous, everyone should visit.

The Charleston is in a very nice position in Spoleto, just off the main shopping street and within easy walking distance of the duomo and other sights. The hotel was comfortable, friendly and clean. They have a small garage next door. Breakfast was nice. Overall it was a very nice deal and I would definitely stay there again.
