It is hard to tell which is better, walking on the bridge and enjoying the view of the deep river valley and the surrounding hills, or looking at the bridge in its near perfect setting.

It's beautiful when it's lit up at night - very picturesque. It's also a very pleasant walk during the day. We walked across and then around the castle.

Present bridge is from XIV century and was build over remains of roman one. The name 'Ponte delle Torri' means 'Bridge of Towers' and refers to the towers which were on two ends of bridge and which don't exist anymore. From the ponte you have greats views on hills and valley. In the past it was also aqueduct. Making walks over bridge and around the castle makes me calm and relax everytime.

This is a fascinating piece of mediaeval engineering. From the style and build quality it was probably a rebuild of a Roman aqueduct. The walk to the bridge takes you away from the hustle and bustle of the city and I could happily spend hours up there enjoying the scenery. There are two bars nearby so refreshments and toilets are available.

This is THE way into Spoleto on foot - dramatic views over towards the City and the Rocca. A must for all visitors to Spoleto
