Having read the many reviews on Trip Advisor, we went expecting something quite different. And different it is! The restaurant is tiny and filled with an eclectic mix of parafinalia, but seemingly dominated by many manifestations of Pinnochio??? Fortunately we had taken the precaution of booking advance (I had thought this would have been unnecessary, it being a Monday at lunch time) - and just as well we had as the restaurant quickly filled to capacity!
Within a couple of minutes water and wine were on the table - and that's the only decision you will have to make - red or white wine/still or frizzante acqua!
Then the food begins in a procession of small (but very adequate) plates - and it is very, very good. The entire proceedings are orchestrated by Filippo the owner, part maitre de, part ringmaster - but we found it entertaining and in way intrusive - we can only commend the service.
However, if it's a quiet romantic candlelight dinner for two you are after, you might want to look elsewhere!
We had a really good lunch, the house wine would not have been my choice, but very drinkable nonetheless, and the bill at the end almost embarrassingly small. The final delightful touch - Chef "Mama" came out of the kitchen to take a well-deserved bow and to make sure all her customers had eaten well!
Would definitely return and heartily recommend!
