Very good Hotel , clean , warm good size rooms . Staff very friendly and helpfull .

A great location for a family ski holiday . The village is very quite which is just what we wanted .

Nice bar area where the drinks where not expensive . Good food in Italian sytyle .
We will be going back next year .

Room Tip: Get a room to the left hand side of the hotel as you look at it from the front .

Very surprisingly there were less than a dozen people staying at this small (<30 rooms) hotel in Borgata, Sestriere. The village is extremely quiet, unlike the rooms if you have noisy neighbours, given the very low occupancy this was not a problem. The staff are friendly and generally helpful but the food could have been better, lacking in variety with an excess of veal, cured ham, cheese, eggs etc. This monotony was not apparent in the many good mountain restaurants across the 'Milky Way'. Also one does not expect the same half finished apple strudel to be presented repeatedly for pudding four days in succession, although there were other choices these were repeated too (creme caramel and a small selection of ice creams). There was lots of fresh fruit although a vegetarian guest was disappointed by having to eat egg dishes much of the time. Some of the main courses were rather strange, for instance two poached eggs with cheese sauce plus boiled carrots and mashed potatoes(!)
The bar area is quite large but lacks a focal point and is not cosy with so few guests, a couple of evenings it was also quite chilly.
Despite these criticisms there were some important plus points - it's very clean and not expensive, with plenty of hot water for showers. The rooms and ensuite bathrooms were warm, and a fair size with enough storage space, far less cramped than in similarly priced chalet accommodation.

Room Tip: Number 24 has a large bathroom with a shower big enough for two.

My wife and I had a pleasant stay. Hotel is very clean and tidy, but quite simple. Rooms are decent sized, and the walls rather thin so noise in hallways and adjacent rooms can be a little disturbing. Our beds, two very small twins, were a bit hard but generally comfortable. Staff is very nice and accomodating. Dinner in the restaurant is convenient, an inexpensive prix fixe service of homestyle food. Breakfast is also rather basic (pastry, yogurt, fruit...) but with good coffee.

Having seen the large resort of Sestriere on the drive through, I was very thankful of deciding to stay in the quiet village of Borgata, at Hotel Banchetta. Lovely small hotel, very personal and comfortable with a large relaxing bar/lounge area perfect for a good read and a beer after a day on the slopes. Everyone - owners, staff and other guests - very friendly and the atmosphere allows for communal chats and getting to know one another.
Food was faultless - 4 course traditional food from the area, extremely filling! Excellent choice each night - always a vegetarian option. Rooms were small but adequate, comfy bed allowing for very good night's sleep, nice and quiet. Our twin room included TV with English channels, small desk and 2 chairs, bed side cabinet, one wardrobe and bathroom with shower, toilet, sink and bidet.
Skiing facilities were second to none, and the hotel's location couldnt have been better - a 5 minute walk to the slopes, and only a 5 minute chair lift over to Sestriere. Although we didnt make the trip, there was a bus that ran through the day and night on some occassions (to 4am!) to Sestriere so you don't have to miss out on the apres ski! 2 small bars are open each night in the village, one next door to the hotel, so if you fancy a few beers outside of the hotel, there are the facilities.
Excellent holiday, made even better by the accommodation. Will be back again!

Cannot fault this hotel which was part of an Inghams ski holiday package. Probably the best hotel for service, comfort and friendliness I have stayed in in Italy. Excellent 4 course meal in the evenings, Continental style breakfast in the moming. Nothing was too much trouble for the terrific staff there. A family run hotel and Christina and Bruna in particular were brilliant and helpful hosts. Breakfast was provided at 6am one morning especially for an early departure which was much appreciated. The bar is lovely and welcoming . My single room was warm, with a small but powerful and hot shower, ideal after a days skiing. Only 300m from fabulous ski school/hire and further 100m to chairlift made the location ideal. If you are looking for a quiet family run hotel, with great service and warm comfortable rooms in an Italian ski resort look no further! If you seek nightlife you are better placed in Sestriere or Sauze ather than Borgata which is a small village, a few kms from Sestriere itself. Hotel does not have a lift, but has whirlpool and sauna which was wonderful! Really cannot say enough about what a great stay it was! Buonissimo!!
