Charming little get away that's priced right. Staff was warm and served us well. Enjoyed a nice meal sitting atop the waterfall. Cabin was upgraded in all the right ways. Enjoyed reading next to the wood fireplace. We will certainly be back again.

We were treated by family to a gorgeous dinner. The service was very friendly and accommodating and the staff went out of their way to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable (age range 2 - 59). The walking trails were perfect for a not-so-cold winter's day, and the Sunday breakfast was very good; again, the service was outstanding.

The service standard does not appear to be consistent.....

Check-in and out did not reflect the same service standard; we weren't greeted right away and though there were several people that appeared to be manning the front desk, they didn't give the impression they were organized or in fact pleased to see guests arrive.

Our room was fine, but a bit 'tired' looking. We didn't need a TV, but those who would be thinking that might enhance their stay, the screen was a very small computer monitor sized flat screen far away from the bed, which was the only spot you could watch it from.

The bed was waaaay too soft - we would be 2 people who place a great deal of thumbs-up-ness on a hotel room if the mattress is comfortable. If this is important, the mattress could be a deal breaker; it will keep us from coming back unless they upgrade.

During what was a fairly quiet dinner dinner we were above a wedding reception with 'thumpy' music; we were early enough we weren't disturbed by it for too long, but it could be a consideration in the timing of one's reservation. The food was wonderful - but entrees started at $40 which we found very pricey for what one got.

I'm writing this in a 'helpful' spirit for future guests as well as the management staff of the Inn -

Room Tip: Check with the inn about what types of mattresses are on offer. 'The Crofts' part of the inn...

Excellent staff, beautiful setting and particularly enjoyed staying in the main building. Food very good. A great escape close to Toronto. Wish we had taken swimming suits as Pool looked very inviting.

Came here on the 13th of Feb with my girlfriend for Valentines day. Been here quite a few times before and as always it was really nice. Only a couple minor disappointments but nothing major. First of all since we are regulars here and that we were celebrating valentines day we thought a complementary bottle of wine or maybe a few assorted chocolates would have been in order. We have gotten a complementary bottle before on our anniversary, so we just figured that's what the Millcroft provided on specialty occasions. The other minor set back was the firewood was quite damp and it took us a while to get the fire going and hardly any newspaper was left for us to start it with. We used some extra napkins we brought with us to keep the flame going until it started. Once the fire was going good it was very cozy and relaxing, everything else was absolutely wonderful as well. The pool and fitness room were very clean the water was a good temperature. Our hot tub was really nice in our Croft room where we stayed. Lots of neat little trails around the area, they provide snow shoes and cross country skis at front desk. We had the breakfast buffet in the pod the next morning. They had the usual eggs benedict, sausage, bacon, toast, pastrys, smoked salmon and assorted cheeses. Everything was delicious only complaint was the first egg I grabbed was a little cold but i went back for more and the rest seemed hot and very tasty. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. They really make you feel welcome here. Definitely be coming back again and I recommend this place to anyone who wants a quite, relaxing and romantic getaway.

Room Tip: I recommend the croft rooms. They are extremely cozy with fireplace and an upstairs bedroom with 2 t...

We were here to attend a wedding in November. The staff was very pleasant. The surrounding landscape was beautiful as well as the inn itself. The food for the wedding was exceptional. Our room with a view of the falls was spacious, clean and well appointed except for the small sofa which I wouldn't say was antique just old circa 1950 and uncomfortable. The bed was also very uncomfortable, lumpy. Neither my husband nor myself slept at all. We found the buffet breakfast way too expensive for what was offered and felt it should be included for what you pay for a night's stay. Due to time restraints we never used any of the other facilities. We would probably not go back again unless it was for another function.

Room Tip: A room overlooking the falls would be your bgest choice.

We did an early Valentines get away this past weekend and really enjoyed ourselves at the Millcroft. First I would have to say that the staff are exceptional -very friendly and positive in such a way that they make your day even more pleasant. The room was spacious and very comfortable. My partner paid an extra $40 for a water view but I would think twice about that in the winter. Their was a waterfall just below our window but for just one night where the room was used only after dark basically ...I don't think I would have paid the extra for the water view. On that note however the dinning room has a sun room type balcony that overlooks those same falls and is beautiful. So when you are making your reservations for dinner ask for the porch over the water. The food is excellent by the way!!! We used the spa for a massage and the staff were great. The room was sunny though and I found it a bit cold. I enjoy massages in a dark warm room better. The spa pool and hot tub are small. They have some sports equipment so we borrowed snowshoes (excellent quality) and went for an hours walk in the woods. They have well marked trails and I would highly recommend it if you enjoy being outdoors. So overall I would say the food, staff, room and country setting were top notch. The couples massage room is a bit too bright and the water-view price might be better spent in the summer.

Room Tip: We had the corner room right over the falls and enjoyed windows that faced two directions. One of th...

We stayed at the Millcroft Inn & Spa in late January in the Manor House and found the Inn to be the romantic setting that had been advertised. The room was very nice and spacious, quite comfortable with a gas fireplace with the only drawback being a very small TV with limited chanells in case one wanted to watch any sports during their stay.
The restaurant for dinner was fabulous but the "buffet breakfast" the following morning was a disappointment, with poor service, and food rarely replenished. Breakfast should be avoided if possible as it leaves one with a bad impression rather than the other way around.

Room Tip: Manor House
