“Paradise in Tuscany ”
Reviewed April 3, 2014 via mobile

We had a delightful 8 night stay here, the grounds were beautiful, around the garden by the restaurant hotel court yard, and pool area with plenty of sun loungers overlooking the Tuscan mountains. Truly stunning. The food they served was delicious (we went half-board) and every night there was lots of choice from the a la carte menu, and hot breakfast buffet. We got on really well with the restaurant staff, they were very welcoming and friendly. We will definitely return to this hotel again!
It was only 30 minute bus ride into Florence city centre (avoid rush hour if possible because the buses can get very cosy!)
We flew into Pisa and hired a car during our stay, we'd recommend it for sight seeing because the hotel is on the out skirts, which was great for us wanting a relaxing environment.
Lucca and Vada beach were recommended to us from friends and the restaurant staff- both an hour or so drive away but didn't disappoint. Both we're fantastic days out.
We can't wait to return after we've seen more of the world first!

We stayed here out of season (March) as a group for a conference, and it was great to come back to each night. Very relaxing and quiet, with a pleasant courtyard to sit out in. There is a small outdoor swimming pool, but that didn't open until May, and a tennis court in the grounds. There's also a tennis club next door.

The rooms are well maintained and include a fridge, safe and (old style) TV. The bathroom had a shower, bidet, loo and washbasin and provided shampoo, soaps, etc. All the rooms we had were identically kitted out.

The staff were friendly and helpful.

The restaurant was very nice - quiet but then it is out the way a bit. Prices were moderate, something like 8 or 9 euros per course, so you're looking at 35 to 40 euros a head with wine. Food was very good and we ate here on two nights. Breakfast, which was included in the stay, was croissants, toast and jam, coffee, juice, fruit, cheese and cold meats, scrambled egg and a few cereals on a buffet, so a pretty good selection.

Practicalities - it's about 20 minutes walk from the nearest railway station, or about 10 minutes walk to the nearest bus stop. The village/suburb of Sesto Fiorentino is about 10 to 15 minutes walk away. From the airport, it was about a half hour drive in the taxi.

Would certainly stay here again if I was back in the area. Very enjoyable.

Stayed for a 2 night break with my wife and 2 year old daughter as part of a package I won through work. Staff were very efficient and lavished special attention on my daughter. Rooms were a little old but added to the charm of the stay, if you want sterile characterless rooms then book with a chain. Restaurant was very good, when we didn't make breakfast the waiter gave me a tray of food to take to the room.

As part of our Trafalgar "Jewels of Italy" tour we stayed two nights at the villa.

The villa itself is somewhat secluded from the hustle and bustle of Florence and provides a quiet respite from the rigors of sightseeing. The beautiful glass Murano chandeliers throughout the lobby (and actually in our room) were exquisite. Our room itself was quite comfortable and the bathroom facilities very well appointed.

A bit of nostalgia surfaced upon check-in when our room key was attached to a very large medallion with the hotel insignia. It must have weighed a half pound! Also attached was a metal plate to be inserted into a slot just inside the door on the wall to activate the electricity in the room. Something common in all the hotels in which we stayed while in Italy. A very common sense solution to the high costs of energy.

The on-site restaurant was only used during breakfast and provided the standard continental fare along with some concessions to the tourists such as breakfast cereals, yogurt etc.

The daily towel and room services was excellent and performed without any inconvenience to the guests, even when requested outside of the normal routine schedule. Hotel staff were pleasant, courteous and very accomodating. The villa grounds were shaded and very relaxing.

In all, we thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay and would consider a return when next in Florence.

Room Tip: Some rooms had sleeping accommodations upstairs of the main room and bathing facilities. Not very c...

Its so weird how the outside of the hotel looked so lovely but the inside was like walking into a ghost movie. The rooms need a major upgrade, no ac , tv wasn't working and spider web all over the place. The location is not the greatest, far from everything. Restaurant was just OK breakfast didn't have many option. I would definitely will never go back to this place.

Room Tip: If you're AC doesn't work don't leave the windows open lost of mosquito will come in.

Beautiful landscaped gardens and a true villa experience. Not close to the city centre of Florence. Breakfast was lovely but in large groups, serves of meat and eggs are few and far between, same with all other products really. Get in early. WiFi is intermittent in the rooms but across the yard in the main reception works fine and is free. Have a shower the night before, just in case in the morning, you experience what we did and that was no shower water due to excess air in the pipes (apparently). It wasnt working all morning so we were unable to have a shower before shipping out on the tour. The restaurant had divine meals in a beautiful outdoor setting. Staff are also quite friendly here. Great spot for a wedding.

Room Tip: Dont open your windows if you want your weak air con to keep running, it shuts off automatically whe...

We just returned from staying in a 'Double superior room' for 7 days. Cannot complain about anything in truth - overall staff were very helpful and professional in whatever was asked of them. Additionally, the room A/C worked wonders and Wifi was excellent. There was a well stocked breakfast spread, the facilities were clean and the rustic grounds were quite beautiful. Hotel is a short walk across from local shops, supermarket, and a very fine local Pizzeria (AqAbA). Recommend buying bus tickets from local shops, as drivers often run out.
The pool was slightly 'bitty' for first few days, but crystal for the remainder. The Pool's bar serves very convenient food and drink but the restaurant would benefit from adding some of the more simple Tuscan foods to its menu - just for the non-connoisseur.

Room Tip: Consider upgrading from a standard room for more comfortable room facilities
