“Great for adults and children”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

We spent the weekend of 14/16 September 2012 at Rainer's.
We were welcome with a present for our little one, a mini-apartment made of two double bedrooms instead of a double room with annexed mini-bed, and amazing catering treatment.
The price was about 60% of what requested by 4 stars hotels in Innichen and Niederdorf (Villa Stefania and Adler hotels) for the same period bearing in mind that this is a 4 stars superior, with facilities that can hardly be compared to the other 2 hotels (where we stayed last year).
We were in half board treatment, which also included mid-morning aperitifs and mid-afternoon cakes.
The swimming pool and spa facilities were huge and spotless, and the children playroom and outdoor garden, with complimentary baby sitting services, the kindest.
I'd have no doubt at recommending Rainer to anyone

This hotel offers delicious (gluten-free) food, very nice kids care, an impressive SPA, is nicely suited with a gorgeous view, very nice personell and a good feeling for service around guests during vacation time.

Room Tip: Families should choose category E type rooms.

we experienced familyhotels before - for a lower price, we had a better service and hotel. the hotel is rather old style, with carpets and '70s furnishing that could be upgraded. the location of the hotel for kids' ski slopes made up for a rather non existent service/support/info-only exception a lovely lady serving meals. the mini club was staffed with only 1 person, clearly impossible then to cater toddlers and older kids. the front staff (reception) was rarely there; on arrival we were shown our room (level -3, recommended as kids almost literally ski out of the room) but were not told anything about miniclub activites/hours, meals, ski room, ski school. the ski school by the way earns special praise. the miniclub girl was all day with the kids and also serving kids supper....her unwelcoming facial expressions can be understood but not justified by the price paid. the free hot drinks /coffee machine(breakfast) is not proposed-we discovered it!- and a waitress instead takes order for hot drinks...promptly charged to the room! the way they charge for lunch is questionable and the choice poor-same for the dinner buffet (comparing again to previous experiences). The room was not cleaned properly the second day, then better. you can hear noise from room upstairs (including shower!)

Room Tip: level -3 to get easy access to slopes

We totally loved this hotel and the location (Sesto). We now live in Germany and were looking for a family-friendly spot for a week in the Alps. We often stay in mountain huts but now, with a two-year-old and another child on the way, the logistics have gotten a lot harder. We decided to rent a small apartment in the "residence" part of the hotel for the week and had "halb pension" at the hotel. During the day we did a lot of walking- there are tons of trails easily accessible from the hotel... and tons of playgrounds throughout the town and even in the mountains, which kept our two-year-old super happy. I was 6 months pregnant at the time, so my husband ended up doing a few longer hikes on his own with a local alpine group. The hotel made it super easy for me to find activities for our son. He wasn't old enough for the day care, but the various on-site playgrounds, the farm animals and pools were great. One day we also borrowed a buggy and did a great walk in the foothills on our own. Mealtimes were so much less stressful than usually the case for us at hotels. The staff was super accommodating and made special food arrangements so we could put our son to bed early and enjoy a few nice dinners alone as a couple. My husband also got to enjoy the spa a bit. The price point was a bit higher than what we'd normally pay in the mountains, but we all thought it was worth every penny. Finally, we had a vacation that was fun and relaxing for ALL of us.

We stayed in the residence part of the complex in one of the Gilte rooms in the new Strata wings. The room was beautiful, very modern, with a nice bed, balcony and the most incredible views. The location is ideal for lots of walks in the mid and summer season.

We spent quite a lot of time in the SPA facility which is of the highest quality. The pool, outdoor jacuzzi, the different types of saunas and steam rooms were such a pleasure.

Would have liked Wi-fi throughout the complex rather than just from the hall. Nonetheless is a place to go and relax in the outdoors!

Room Tip: Strata rooms are fantastic - if you like modern lk

The food is delicious!! We so enjoyed all the courses during dinner. The childcare offered during meals was fantastic. Our sons loved the childcare: staff and toys. And we loved the opportunity to have a peaceful dinner. The rooms were so comfortable and our room opened onto a balcony that looked out onto the Dolomites...breathtaking!! Definitely worth a visit to the charming town of Sesto.
