“Surprisingly innovative cuisine”
Reviewed August 31, 2011

When you stay in Senigallia and prefer the Northern Beach to the South Beach, you will pass this restaurant many times. At least, we did - but never entered. We finally took the plunge and booked a table for a very busy Saturday evening in late August 2011. Not surprisingly, the restaurant was very busy! We managed to get a table for two in the hallway outside of the restaurant, but we did not mind, because it was quiet and more relaxed than then crwoded main part of the place. We were pleasantly surprised with this new discovery! Senigallia is famous for its seafood cuisine, and this place will certainly leave a mark! The cucina di pesce is innovative, of high quality and really enjoyable. We were most impressed with i primi di pesce i.e. pasta in all sorts and varieties in great combination with either seafood or fish. What came as a real surprise is that it was homemade pasta! The antipasti di pesce were also brilliant, I recommend taking the complete antipasti di pesce, which gives you a good insight into what can be done to and with fish! We took one secondo di pesce together, because the portions were abundant. I can only say good things about this new discovery in Senigallia: the waiters and waitresses were professional even on a very, very busy Saturday evening, the food was lovely, the setting as well, and the portions were very big - try to share either a primo or a secondo, if you are in two. Thus, despite the fact that the prizes are slightly higher than most restaurants in Senigallia, in the end, you pay the same prize for really good and innovative food, if you share. I recommend this place with all of my heart and hope to return soon to try some more of their creations.

“big delusion, expensive considering low quality fish, service very bad”
Reviewed August 14, 2010

We booked for two at 9pm and we arrived at the restaurant at 8.10pm because it was raining. The restaurant was 80% empty but the young waitress did not let us sit down because "the guests of the hotel have dinner from 7.30pm and there are turns". We asked: "what is the problem, the restaurant is almost empty and we booked a table?" but they said that they were all booked and they could not let us sit down. This never happened to me in my life but nevertheless we went our for a (cold and rainy) walk and we came back at 9pm. The restaurant was 80% full and they let us sit down at a table that was free still at 8.10pm without any comment from the young waitress and we were served by another waiter that was ok.

We choosed two first dishes:
- Passatini del Montefeltro al limone con mazzancolle e piccole verdure: mazzancolle were terribly overboiled and the rest of the taste was just of vegetables and lemon.
- Maltagliati di polenta con salsa ai gamberetti e melanzane: the gamberetti were tasteless like the ones of bad chinese restaurants and overall it was insignificant.

, and two second dishes.
- Filetti di Rombo gratinato al forno con patate olive e capperi: way too salty the potatoes that were impossible to eat. The fish was so and so.
- Filetto di Branzino farcito ai gamberetti e Verdure, con crosta di melanzane e calamaretti light: it was not bad, not very well balanced but the fried calamari light were useless.

wine was good and they have a good selection, a bit overpriced.

for the total of 87€ for two person there is much better in the Conero area, like Giacchetti in Portonovo (same price category but awesome food) or Da Carmen in Senigallia (half price and awesome good fish that tastes good).

I will never come back in this place anymore.
