As with all recent reviews, this hotel definitely recommended.
Clean comfortable, very good food.
No-one seems to mention the bar which is warm, welcoming and has the same prices as in the town. This is a great plus when the ski legs are tired and the decision is whether to venture into town or stay in.
The only slight quibble is that breakfast get a bit boring with the same fayre and no hot option.
Also no coffee with the evening meal.
The location is ok - about 15mins to the town centre but some bars etc are on the far side of town.
You can ski back to within 100 mteres or even 20.
Bus service is fine to plan Gralba (away from town) with a stop 20metres away but towards town its approx 200metres

Four members of staff are owners family. Old fashioned but atmospheric,, Excellent service with multi-language welcome.
Dining room large spacious and welcoming, food right at the top of the tree without being ostentatious. Breakfast usual fresh fruit, cereal, meats and cheeses.
Two nights special dinners provided with chef carving in the dining room.
Coffee and tea are plentiful in the morning.
House wine cheap.
No facilities in the room like most continental hotels so take your own kettle.
The owners daughter even got up to provide breakfast for guests at 0500 for earlier leavers on transfer day.
Plumbing a little dated and some slight drainage issue in the wet room/bathroom.
Views better at front of hotel.
Definitely will go back to this hotel.
Access to piste 200m walk up hill. Or bus to Van D Gralba lift outside hotel. Or ski bus in the opposite direction to the town center 150 meters downhill.
Walk to town about 10 mins. Not advisable in ski boots but ski bus regular. Boot room heated and adequate (no steps to negotiate) whoopee!.

Room Tip: Front of hotel for views but you might get traffic noise.

I have just got back from a weeks skiing in the Dolomites and thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the the Alpino Plan. I was on holiday with a friend , we had a pleasant room with twin beds which was scrupulously clean and warm. The beds had lovely fluffy duvets and the bathroom had a bath with a shower and slightly psychodelic tiling and plently of hot water. There was plenty of storage space and hangers for 2 girls and the hooks in our mini hallway were great for hanging up wet ski gear.
The food is really good, a continental breakfast and a 4 course delicious meal evening meal- although perhaps not a fantastic choice if you were vegetarian. I was amazed when they even provided breakfats at 5 in the morning when we had an early return flight
The staff are really friendly and go out of their way to be helpful - the decoration of the hotel is in tyrolean style and completely apropriate for the location.
The only drwaback is that it is a 5 minute walk to the ski bus stop or 10 minutes to the nearest ski lift (I walk vey slowly in ski boots).
I would highly recommend this hotel

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a bath as not all of them have one

Stayed with friends over New Year and had a fantastic time. The hotel is well managed and it is obvious that the family owners take great pride in looking after their guests. Nothing was too much bother and they went out of there way to help us and make our stay memorable.

The hotel is well appointed, with a small bar, lounge area, large boot room (with boot warmers) and a nice restaurant. Bedrooms are simply furnished; perhaps a little dated in décor, but spotlessly clean. It was more than adequate and far better than most 3 star ski hotels I have stayed in before. It was a shame that our room had only a shower not a bath, so no way of soaking my aching thighs after a days skiing. The food was very good throughout, 4 courses every night and the house wine is reasonably priced at 12.50 euro per litre. The New Years gala dinner was fantastic, 8 or 9 courses of fabulous dishes.

The hotel is on the outskirts of Selva, towards Gralba, but getting to town is easy. The choice is either a 10 min walk, a 2 min walk to the ski bus stop or 10 euro in a taxi. You can ski almost to the hotel so access is not an issue.

We travelled with Thompson/Crystal Ski and the overall package was excellent, very good value for money. The Crystal reps looked after us well and we enjoyed a couple of days skiing with them, getting to know the resort. The Dolomiti ski area is vast, it is no exaggeration to say that you can ski all week and rarely do the same piste twice. The Alpino is well positioned to load you onto the Sella Ronda circuit but be warned the piste maps and signing are diabolical.

We would defiantly return to the Alpino again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a bath, if you want a soak after a day skiing

You should have no hesitation in selecting the Alpino Plan. The hotel is excellent for its star rating. The food especially is very good. As is the Italian style, you have a choice to choose from and they serve the ususal four courses including a pasta course. The standard is very high and the service excellent. New Year's eve was 8 courses with quails' eggs which was a first for me. Rooms are clean and fairly spacious for ski hotels. You can ski to the door if you choose the right pistes and so avoid the need for a bus from Selva town centre. 100 m walk in the morning to get into the lift system. 15m walk into Selva.
The ski area is worth a mention. I know it is a cliché but you don't have to ski the same piste twice. lift pass is pricey at 250 euros high season but is there a better area.
All in all - tip top hotel. A bid "de gra" (ladino dialect) to Mr Demetz and his family.

Room Tip: South facing if you can get one?

We've just returned from Alpino Plan in Selva. We had a wonderful time in a friendly, family run hotel. It was traditionally decorated which added to the charm. Mr Demetz, the owner, is a charming, elderly gentleman (and still a ski instructor), who oversees his family and guests in a polite, unobtrusive and caring way. The rooms and bathrooms were spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable. Skiers were served well with a boot room downstairs that had boot warmers to dry your boots overnight. I have never submitted a review on trip advisor before but because we were looked after so well, I want to give this hotel and the family and staff a glowing endorsement. Regarding the location, the bus to Plan de Gralba stops immediately outside the hotel and the bus to town and Oristei is only 200 yards away. You can ski back to within 300 yards of the hotel. When we went straight from the slopes for apres ski drinks in the centre of town, we got a taxi back quite cheaply (10 Euros). The food in the hotel was exceptional and the the family made a huge effort to make the New Year Banquet really special. 9 courses! Overall, we recommend this hotel highly. It is great value for money and the staff are wonderful. We would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Some bathrooms only had a shower so if you want a bath, make sure you request a room with one.

We've been there twice, with Crystal. It's a very agreeable hotel. The boot room has heaters that really dry your boots. The food is good and there's a varied breakfast selection, which includes boiled eggs - but nothing else cooked. There's a nice bar and a good selection of wines - they are a bit pricey, but, hey, you're on your holiday. Although they depend a lot on Crystal customers, there's no TV in english... There's a large comfortable sitting room, where you can sit and chat. As mentioned, you have to haul your skis up the hill from the bus stop, about 200 yards. Carrying them down in the morning isn't so bad but will wear down your heels!
