Good italian cuisine! Good quick service. Attention for kids. We ate nice pizza's and pasta's. Finished with tiramisu! Delicious.

This was a very friendly place full of locals. Definitely a Tyrolean spin on Italy. Had a VERY good beer with lunch instead of the usual wine. The soup of the day was tremendous. We enjoyed a nice chat with a local professional photographer who was preparing for a show. He showed some of his work that he would be displaying and told a couple interesting stories. One of our favorite meals in the Sud Tyrol.

My husband and I along with three other couples were driving in 2 vans to La Villa in late May of this year. We passed through Wolkenstein, the town where this restaurant is located, as we were headed to the Gardena Pass. We did not get too far up into the mountains before we came upon a road closure due to snow. The Giro d'Italia had been re-routed earlier in the day due to the snow; however, we had been driving from Lake Como and did not hear the news.

We turned around and headed back in the direction we had come from. We had no clue where we would go next and it was already very late in the afternoon. One of the guys remembered passing this restaurant that looked so nice but we didn't know if it was open because it was off-season and everything was pretty much closed. The door was unlocked but the restaurant was not scheduled to open for another hour. The proprietors were kind enough to let us sit and regroup.

While we were discussing what to do, I approached the proprietors and it turned out that their daughter spoke perfect English--much better than my Italian. Katherine (not sure how she spells it) called the hotel in La Villa where we were headed to tell them we could not make it. She then filled us in on all other options we might consider. Her mother then called a friend who owned a B&B, Villa Seceda, and arranged for us to spend the night there. It was such a great place, we stayed two nights instead of just one.

We ate three meals at this restaurant and all four couples agreed the food and the service was excellent. A couple of the guys were raving about the Wiener Schnitzel -- I stuck with Italian food! For dessert I continued to order the apple strudel which was fresh and tasty.

Without the people at this restaurant, we have no idea what we would have done! We appreciate all they did for us more than words can express.

The place is beautiful, typical Tyrolean! We went each night we were in Selva and we were always satisfied! The Pizza and the pasta (especially the tagliatelle muschrooms, gniochetti and the mezzaluna with spinach) super good. My wife highly recommends the minestrone!! Service was express and keeping in mind the expensive Val Gardena, this restaurant is considerably cheap with good sized portions!!

We stumbled upon L Ciamin while looking for another restaurant that we had found on TripAdvisor but we were not disappointed. Most people were locals (always a good sign!) and the pizza we had was wonderful.

No specific dish recommendations, but this was a typical Italian/Tyrollean pizzeria, so everything local should be good.
