“Best choice in Sorrento area”

If you can afford it, than book it now! Great views, great pool area, great staff! Yes, the rooms are small. It is the smallest shower I have ever seen. Don't bend your leg once you close shower door, unless you want to crash your knee, i.e. You can't lift your leg to wash your feet! Taxi to downtown is approx. 15 euro, so it's best to create your schedule around the free shuttle's schedule. Don't worry if there are more people than seats. They drive with passengers standing for this short ride.

We enjoyed every encounter with the staff. Aniello, you are the best!
Saluti tutti (Bernardo incluso)!

We stayed at the hotel mediterraneo for 5 nights. The staff is fantastic, the rooms are clean and the views from the rooms are breathtaking. If you are going to stay at this hotel you should be aware of the following:

1) the hotel is a 25 minute walk from the center of town. The hotel does offer a free shuttle but the shuttle does not constantly run and gets fully booked very often.

2). The bathooms are nice but the shower stall is very small. Our room did not have a tub. I you weigh over 200 pounds you will have a difficult time in the shower

3). The rooms a nice but a bit small and there is not a lot of space to store your clothes.

Those are reletively minor colmplaints but issues you should be aware of. The pool and private beach are great. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel other than these three issues.

We are just back from a lovely holiday at the Hotel Mediterraneo.
Unfortunately we found our room to be a bit small for the three of us, definitely lacking in plug sockets and storage space. I had emailed the hotel before our stay requesting 3 single beds. This was not complied with but because the bed was a king size it wasn't really a problem along with a single.
For a couple the rooms are great but beware if you are booking a triple room.
However we had a wonderful time, most of the staff lovely & helpful.
We walked into Sorrento just once as it really isn't a nice walk along unlit and uneven pavements. The shuttle bus is great & so convenient & the driver such a funny guy!!!
We went on trips to Rome, Capri and Pompeii. All good value.
Breakfast satisfactory but not out of this world.
Pool area lovely, peaceful and relaxing.
All in all a wonderful holiday...... thank you to all the staff there.

We only had 3 wonderful nights at the Hotel Mediterraneo but we loved every minute of our stay. The hotel is beautiful; the staff very professional and friendly; the restaurant, pool/bar, and gardens were great! The showers were a bit small but the rooms were very nice, the beds comfortable, and we were lucky to have a sea view with a balcony. We were a family of 5 adults and all of us enjoyed our meals at the restaurant during our short stay. The breakfast buffets were included in our room rate and selection was extensive and very good indeed! The reception staff helped us with 2 excellent excursions and a night in a wonderfully good restaurant to which we were driven by the curtesy shuttle. We highly recommend this hotel!

Everything about our week at the Meditteraneo was perfect. Our room and bathroom were lovely. Both spotless. We requested a high floor room and got one. The double bed was very comfortable and the linen and towels were of good quality. Our balcony gave us an amazing. view of Vesuvius, the mountains and the sea and we watched the sun set over Capri every evening. We were half board and found the food in the restaurant excellent. A great variety of Italian cuisine. The waiters were more than happy to answer any questions about the food and Anotonio was particularly helpful in finding out the names of dessert liquors in the puddings and the sommelier (Vettorio) was knowledgeable and helpful about the local wines. However all waiters gave first class service. Free Wi-fi was available in our room and in all areas in the hotel and pool. The lift to the beach is free, but the 10 euros payable (mentioned in an earlier review) is for a sunbed for the day.I swam in the sea from the public platform and swam round to the private part. (There isn't really a beach). I originally paid for a sunbed but disliked the crowded bathing platform so went back to the hotel where the reception desk refunded my 10 euros. The reception staff also gave first class service and always friendly, and responded positively to requests. It really was a perfect holiday.

Have just returned from a very relaxing week at the Mediterraneo Hotel, its a wonderful place but the food in the restuarant is just a little bit boring. We were half board and loved the BBQ buffet evenings, the food was wonderful but compare that with the 5th floor restuarant where a piece of fish or meat is covered in a sauce or cheese and served with potatoes and one vegetable (sometimes tinned) its was boring! The service was wonderful and the views spectacular but we ate out in Sorrento 2 nights as we wanted something a little better. The hotel is stunning and the staff are friendly and very helpful, and the rooms we had were clean and comfortable but nothing special. We upgraded to a sea view room at time of booking, but on arrival we were in a tiny ground floor room opposite the bus stop. If you stood in the corner of the terrace you could see a small section of the sea!!! Not what I was expecting! A trip back to reception ensured we were moved to a higher floor into a slightly larger room with a proper "sea view" the next day, but I was a bit put out that I had to ask for the room I had already paid for.
The pool area is immaculate and very comfortable and again the staff were always willing to help with beds and parasols.
The pool bar is a nice place to be both day and night and the staff great especially Daniele who has a great sense of humour and is a great asset to the hotel.............I would like to wish Daniele and his family my best wishes for the future and hope he stays well for as long as possible.
But the best thing about this trip has to be Sorrento its self, what a truly spectacular place, we loved it and cant wait to go back possibly to the Mediterraneo but I think we will try another hotel as there seems to be so many beautiful places to try.

Francesco at the reception desk was outstanding. Room very nice though shower a bit small. Balcony was nice and we appreciated the hotel for ensuring we got one. Pool area large with bar area. Suggestion to eat across the street where there was a fabulous seaview was great. There was an elevator to the beach. But you have to pay $10 per person per day and the free public beach was horrible. The hotel should make this clear on their web page. Breakfast was very very good. Internet available in our room on first floor unsure if there is access in the higher floors. We could hear people in the piazza on the northwest corner next to street. This could be a problem for some. However the view was great.
