Just returned from Hotel Florida, Sant' Agnello and would most certainly concur with the recent postings from T / A contributors, but with maybe personal thoughts thrown in. We felt our room overlooking the street was a bit noisy with refuse collections being made early am ; typical continental breakfast a bit samefied after a few days & would agree with the lack of quality fresh fruit. We couldn't fault the coffee however- try 2 shots of American + I shot of hot milk, superb. We most disappointed with Sorrento itself & the walk into town was a bit of nightmare with kamikaze scooter & motorcycle riders skimming close by as we walked on narrow or non-existent paths. Would agree with the must-see Pompeii comment but felt that the guide rushed us round & the group was too big to take in all the info & photo-shots. The visit to Vesuvius was also very good but spoilt by the poor English of the guide and the well-advertised selling point of 'Vesuvius by 4- by- 4' was a bit of a con as that is the only method of climbing to the volcano crater. This was our first time in 'Seaside Italy' & were horrified by the numbers on the bathing platforms close to the hotel - later to discover that it was an Italian Bank Holiday but found the 45min. walk to Marina Grande & using the bathing platform far-right of the harbour to be almost acceptable at €8 per bed per day. Enough of my comments; Florida is really superb - all the staff happy to help & advise; peaceful heaven in the Lemon Grove; the Restaurant at night most atmospheric and on arriving home, it eventually came to me that everyone pronounced the hotel name as Flor-rida which has nothing to do with the US version but is, possibly the name of the female restaurant owner / manager as the restaurant is called La Bella Ida. Wonderful 12-day holiday & would most certainly recommend it to all, couples or families. Thanks, Alfonso & team.. JW.

Room Tip: The tip of rooms south-facing over-looking the pool is good for view & sunshine but probably pri...

We stayed here from 24 August 2014 to 31 August 2014. Hotel is the cleanest hotel we've ever stayed in. Staff polite and friendly. Breakfast self service continental style, was nice. Pool was lovely and very clean. Sunbeds were plentiful and good quality. The poolside toilets were always spotlessly clean. The bedroom was nice with comfortable beds. Towels were changed every day, the only down side of the room was ours was situated over the kitchen, so we were woken quite early each morning. However, the position of the hotel is good being near enough to Sorrento but far enough away to not be disturbed by the constant traffic. Great position for seeing all the sites. Thanks to Alfonso, family and staff for making our stay so nice!

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool, in the annexe building, are the quietest.

We stayed at the Hotel Florida for one week at the end of July 2014. We really appreciated the suggestions made by the wonderful young man at the reception. Take the tour by Mamma Mia tour company around Capri for the afternoon - this was one of the most enjoyable days of our vacation! We sipped cold beers while we zipped around the island and had time to swim and snorkel too. The Caprese sandwiches they hand out for lunch are delicious and satisfying. We loved the pizza night at the hotel and enjoyed lazy late afternoon drinks by the pool. Our room was spotless and spacious, and we enjoyed our cute balcony in the evenings. Really recommend this hotel. We talk of coming back to stay all the time! Thanks Hotel Florida for a friendly, helpful, clean and fun stay at your cute hotel. Loved the walk to Sorrento and to the beaches in Piano too!

We stayed a week at Hotel Florida and enjoyed this charming family hotel. It's not a luxury hotel but perfect for summer holiday : if the rooms are a little bit basic, there is a nice swimming-pool, a good restaurant, an outdoor bar. Quiet atmosphere (we had a room overlooking the garden). Easy to park and twenty minutes to Sorrento city center by foot.
Just an effort to make for breakfast because it's very cheap and poor (coffee is awful ! Such a shame in Italy !).

We have just returned from a one week stay at this hotel which was fantastic. It was in a great location for sightseeing - Pompeii /Amalfi coast/Capri. We booked two rooms - one for our 2 daughters aged 13 and 17 and one for us. One had balcony overlooking pool which was lovely and the other on the side of the hotel which was also very nice. It was always spotlessly clean - the pool is wonderful - staff courteous helpful and so polite at all times - breakfast was plentiful and lovely. The lemon grove patio is a lovely place to sit when it is very hot . very calming. The pool bar and restsurant also lovely place to sit. We have nothing bad to say about this hotel !!! It appears to be in a much quieter area of sorrento which is otherwise very noisy with traffic whatever time of day . Thank you to hotel Florida staff and owners for a wonderful holiday .

We'v just returned from our first visit to sorrento,we stayed here for 10 days, as soon as we arrived we were made to feel so welcome by the young man on the reception desk. We had a garden room which was quite and exceptionally clean, with plenty of storage space and a small balcony. The free wifi was excellent, lovely pool clean pool area with plenty of sunbeds, the food was really good , the breakfast was buffet style and had plenty of choice, the evening meal was good with different choices every night, there was a pizza night which again was good the pizza were delicious, drinks from the bar are reasonably priced, the hotel is around 20 minutes walk into sorrento but it's an easy walk. But above all the staff at this hotel are the best so helpful and friendly a light bulb in our room needed replacing and it was done within minutes, alphonso, Roberto, and macro who look after the bar and restaurant did a brilliant job, we loved our stay at the Florida hotel and would highly recommend it.

Hotel Florida also has hostel rooms and this was where my friend and I stayed for 5 nights. Although it is a bit of a walk into the town centre, we had a great stay here. It was awesome to have the pool & the bar with great service from Marco & Roberto! The rooms were clean and cool, along with the bathroom which had the best shower !
