Hotel Club Sorrento
Ranked #14 of 19 Hotels in Sant'Agnello

Which is a favourite saying of our now dear friend Franco.
The hotel itself is a perfectly adequate three star property, rooms are perfectly fine and the cleaning standards are immaculate. We have stayed in a lot of hotels both 4 and 5 star in many diffrent locations but what makes this one stand out is its staff and the superb customer service you will experience if you are lucky enough to stay there. Marco, Luigi, Veronica and Franco thank you so much for giving us a holiday to remember, your hospitality made our trip to Sorrento all the more special.
The dinner in the hotel was so good that despite only booking B&B we made the choice to eat in 5 nights out the 7 and did not regret it once. Add to that the best bar prices on the penninsular and you have discoverd a real gem.
Back in rainy old Scotland now but with terrific memories and a determination to ensure that we make many return visits to see our freinds at the Hotel Club.

Top of the range indeed!

The good: friendly staff spoke some English and tried.
Rooms were clean.
The not so good: single rooms are tiny (4 - 41/2 ft wide)
Bathroom was tiny and the sink was almost as large as the shower stall.
The bed was beyond firm into the hard as a rock category. The church bells start at 5 am and go every half hour.
Bring your own soap and shampoo because what they give will last 1-2 days tops.

What a fabulous week in a superb hotel, we only wished that we had been able to stay there for longer. The staff are excellent and really obliging , many thanks to the young girl on the bar who couldnt do enough for us, and Marco, Luigi and Franco who made us feel so special. This hotel should be 4* and we will certainly be back. It is spotless, the food is all home made and delicious, and prices fair.

I've spend three nights in this hotel. The accomodation itself is good for the money you pay.It would be 3 stars, but the kindness of the staff is sufficient to raise my rating to four.

PROS: Swimming pool, WiFi, parking and staying price is FAIR. nice breakfast, GREAT staff. Kind and available.
CONS: Ground and first floor balcony rooms tend to be a place for ants, expecially in the morning. No fridge in the rooms.

Room Tip: Avoid the ground/first floor rooms. They tend to be the ream of ants, expecially in the morning!

Stayed for a weekend, and didn't have any issues. I was in a single person room, which was tiny according to American standards, but completely normal in a European perspective. The room was cleaned daily, and the bathroom/sheets were clean and tidy. The free breakfast buffet was good, the staff was very friendly. About a 20 minute walk from the train station. Would stay here again

Having reviewed the area before travelling, we thought Sant Agnello would be less crowded and less touristy than Sorrento. Whereas Sorrento is indeed buzzy, full of life and late night shops, Sant Agnello is the more sedate sibling next door, with its own social scene but with a more local feel. A twenty minute walk along a very busy road with narrow pavements separates the two towns, but there are buses and trains as well. A stay at Hotel Club for a week or 10 days and you really feel like the people who run it are your friends.

Luigi and Marco at front of house, providing a warm welcome and helping out every way they can. Franco the elder statesman who presides over breakfast and directs everyone to their table, after he kisses all the ladies' hands. Then Franco is to be found in the bar at night chatting away to the punters. Giuseppina and Nina looking after the rooms, and Mario and Enrico? Not sure what they do, but I've seen them hanging around for long enough to know they are part of the furniture.

Breakfast is nutritious enough, good selection of fruit, cheese, croissants, breads, cakes etc. although I don't rate the coffee coming out of the push button machine. I brought my own coffee and cafetiere in, which got me a few funny looks from other guests, but Marco and Franco didn't bat an eyelid. Dinner is good at €12 a head and vegetarians are catered for, which I was pleased to see.

Rooms are clean and functional, towels changed daily, our room 303 looked out the back with the Circumvesuviana train clanking past regularly but you get used to that. Church bells every 15 mins are a distant amusement after a while too. Marco and Luigi were very helpful when we needed to scan documents to email back to our insurance company - my other half had a fight with a pavement slab in Napoli and lost, resulting in a broken knee. Franco, always a man for a bit of theatre, just had to come over to us in the restaurant to wish her a speedy recovery when she was sitting there with her leg in a cast - said with such feeling too!

As this hotel is 5 minutes from Sant Agnello train station, it is well placed for the couple of minutes to Sorrento, the hour to Napoli or the half hour to Pompeii. And there are buses to the Amalfi Coast as well, of which Marco and Luigi will be happy to advise on. All in all, a good and reasonably priced hotel run by people who love what they do and in a good location. My only moan to them was the poor internet connection, couldn't really use laptop in our room but they let me use the PC at reception which made up for it.

We were blown away by the excellent customer service and will definitely come here again.

I/We (Single mom and son with neuro disabilities) are seasoned travellers, and like our creature comforts, this wonderful family run hotel, provided us with comfort, security and ambience. Luigi, Marco and Franco we just brilliant, including Laura. Always supporting us, feeding us, and offering to feed my son at odd times. The Hotel is professionally run, clean and warming, the rooms were adequate for our needs, being in Italy and travelling, we did not need more than a warming basic room as we were always out and about. We stayed pool side, and had an amazing view of the hill sides. The pervious reviews focused on the train, however having the train in the back ground was brilliant, as we felt part of the community and part of the whole experience. Franco (aka) the next Prime minister of Italy was just wonderful with my kiss every morning, my son was treated with respect and approach. Pool service was good. What impressed me most was that the food was genuinely home cooked and fresh, this was noted down to the real "French fries" no frozen rubbish. Any Hotel willing to make fresh fries is a winner. The food was fresh, real and excellent, however the portions were massive, then again I don't eat a lot. The food was brilliant, so well done to the Chef. The Breakfast was interesting a combo of continental and Italian. Its always difficult to give a clear review when a family run business is at the fore, however for the size of the hotel, the professional approach, etiquette and friendly manner, were just what was needed. After all unless you book into a hotel to just sleep and not explore the most amazing surroundings, one only needs the hotel to be comfortable and atmospheric. It delivered all and more. Highly recommended. It don't get emotional when I leave places, however I did this year. We were situated in St.Agnello, 10 mins from Sorrento, we took day drips to different beaches, we did Rome, Positano, Amalfi (a must see) Ravelo, please and and walk down the Sorrento side streets, take in some music just be. As in those famous lyrics by Pavarotti, "Come back to Sorrento" We sure will.
