Grand Hotel la Pace

- I came here for an Easter relaxing break for a week with my partner and his parents. Upon researching, this hotel not only looked the nicest and the best value but also was only £300 each approx for bed and breakfast.
Upon arrival, we were early for
check in at 2pm and tired as we traveled through the night but they let us in our rooms straight away to get settled and gave us a full brief of all the necessary information we needed. There is also wifi in the lobby/restaurant areas - Bonus!
We went bed and breakfast, which was a good choice of cooked and continental and different breads and cakes. The staff were always so attentive and helpful - always went the extra mile!
We ate in their restaurant only once and for €30.00 each we had a 4 course meal which was divine and professional.
However, watch what drinks you are buying and make sure when your are signing the bill to ensure right amount. The only problem we had with this is that they started pouring prosecco in our glasses and we thought it was free, but it wasn't.
But it was lovely anyway.
The rooms were nice and clean and catered to all our needs. There are televisions with what looked like free view - but all in Italian and a bad reception for BBC news, so didn't really bother with that.
Our rooms had a mountain view as sea view was more expensive but it was lovely and a nice balcony.
Rooms always made up lovely upon returning at the end of each day.
Defintely recommend this hotel, nice and relaxing. Positives outweigh negatives!
Negatives
- always check bill before signing
- wifi only in lobby and some restaurant areas
The weather was surprisingly lovely in Easter and were able to explore the local island of Capri and climb the volcano and eat in lovely places around Sorrento!
Enjoy and hope this helps :)

We had an enjoyable stay here 7 years ago and were interested to see if anything had changed since our last visit. I am pleased to say that we were not disappointed. The hotel is about a 15 - 20 minute walk up from the main Corso Italia road,so if you are not fit it would be advisable to take a cab. Th first impression as you walk into reception is fantastic. Lots of marble and a magnificent chandelier dominate the foyer. The receptionist was very efficient and we were upgraded to superior sea view rooms at no extra cost. The rooms are well appointed with spacious bathrooms and a powerful shower over the bath. The only negative is that the shower mixers are not thermostatic so take some juggling to get the temperature just right. The buffet breakfast is adequate without being outstanding, it is difficult to get a good cup of tea as the hot water is kept in an urn and cools down fairly quickly. We had dinner in the restaurant on two occasions, the set menu is reasonable value, although more expensive than local restaurants, but the food is excellent. There is a shuttle bus that runs to Sorrento about 6 times a day and saves the walk down to Sant Agnello. All the staff were extremely friendly and efficient. If you want to visit Sorrento and the surrounding areas, this hotel is an excellent base, costing less than hotels in the centre of Sorrento and in a nice quiet location.

Situated outside Sorrento in the little community of Sant Agnello is this hotel. Given the very good price we didn't have too much expectations on the place. It is Italy and standards on the hotels aint Bangkok.

Anyways, we had a nice room, nice, view. Good service and overall a very nice experience. Actually nothing to complain about. Like all Italian hotels restaurations aren't up to par - and they usually feel a bit dated (unless spending 500€ per night).

Overall a good hotel, with a parking, with a good breakfeast (which is quite rare in italy).

My husband and I, along with our 2 children who were 8 and 15 months at the time spent a week here at the end of september, for a family wedding. The hotel was outstanding. Rooms were very tastefully furnished, beds turned down every evening and a selection of chocolates left on the pillows. Maid service was excellent, clean linen and towels every day. Facilities were excellent, a hair dryer , tea and coffee facilities and an ironing room.Board basis was half board, with breakfast served in a smaller restaurant to that of an evening. My children loved the freshly made pancakes and lemon cake. The strawberries and champagne, a welcomed treat for me at breakfast! Evening meal was a la carte and although not always to my 8 year olds usual taste, every meal was top class as was the service. Lunch and snacks available from the terrace bar were equally good. The hotel guests were all adults at the time, which was term time and to be honest this hotel didn't cater for children with regards to entertainment , playgrounds etc. we chose this hotel because of its high standards and location. The views from the pool area are breath taking as is the hotel as you approach the entrance. It is a short taxis ride from centre of sorrento, which is delightful. However taxis are rather expensive, I walked to a nearby hotel, taking no more than 10 mins and the same route cost 25 euro in a taxis! Italy is a beautiful place, take plenty of spending money.

what an amazing place nearly perfect the only downside was it appears to cater mainly for groups on a half board basis so the menu/wine options al a carte are very limited. the area is out of this world and a cruise along the coast via Capri is stunning

Room Tip: we had a suite with a sea view it wasn't cheap but it was worth every penny

Room was colorful and view of bay was awesome. Did not have wash cloths.Toilet wobbled when you sat on it and that was worrisome because it was attached to wall not the floor. Spacious room with AWESOME view. Room very clean

Outrageous splendour the minute you step inside, you feel quite small in the immense lobby. Marble and gilt everywhere you look, deep armchairs and intricate lamps, railings.... One feels transported back a century or so. The rooms are spacious and comfortable but the air-conditioning is only adjustable by the reception, which is quite odd. There's a buffet breakfast complete with fruits, cereals, croissants, bacon, sausages and scrambled eggs etc. included with the room. The wifi is limited to the public areas only.
We found the personnel very pleasant and helpful.
