“over priced, poor location and really rude manageress”
Reviewed September 4, 2009

They messed up our room, made us wait two hours and put us in a dorm with more people. There was no apology and a discount of 2 euros was made. Not one to really complain as we were on holiday afterall, we accepted this. However we found a flyer later in Sorrento advertising their rooms from 19 Euros and a free drink. Don't be fooled by this. The free drink is a soft drink and the 19Euro price does not exist. This is false advertising. The manageress said that the flyers were out of date. I personally think that this "hostel" is only worth 19 Euro per night. The attitude of the manageress was really bad. She was very dismissive of my feedback that the rooms were only worth 19 Euros and said that's your price, like it or lump it. There are better value places to stay, even double rooms at this price. Also the location is not very good and it's very hard to find fom the train station. Also the free breakfast is awful - sugary cereals, cheap juices, very unsatisfying

Just back from a stay here and I have to say this really is more of a hotel than a hostel. The only drawback was teh room size as they were quite small but they were, like the rest of the property spotless. The rooftop terrace bar was beautiful with an amazing view of the bay of Naples. I would reccommend this hostel to anyone travelling to the Sorrento area.

Wow! They were right, this is not a hostel, it's a total hotel.

Good things:
So squeaky clean. Everything seems new. Nice premises.
Free breakfast in a snazzy dining area. It's like croissants, cereal, bread, OJ, cappuccino, coffee, fruit and what not.
Very affordable! Such great value!

Not so good things:
UGH ok... DO NOT use their washer/dryer! Haha we used it and it ripped all our clothes apart! Also, the dryer did not dry so everything was soaking wet :( SUCH A HORRIBLE MISHAP, grrr!!!
The front desk people are OK... but the guy who was always there CREEPED me OUT! He was really awkward and insinuating and just blah. Just ignore him, ladies, and you'll be cool.

The location is OK... you gotta take the bus to get anywhere but it is Sorrento, so the bus is probably in your itinerary anyways. It's a bit tucked away in a safe spot, close enough to the station (like 7 mins) and some grocery and stuff.
I stayed in room 723 which is a single room with a queen bed and private bathroom, it was me and my husband, so I can't comment on the shared living space. The room was small, but still very nice.

This is a "hostel" but only by name - I had just stayed at the 5 star Grand Hotel in Florence, and I really did like this better! We had a private double on the top floor with a sundeck / balcony and loved it. The room itself was small bet well laid out, clean, and comfortable. The staff was very friendly, breakfast was pretty good, and the whole place is pristine and beautiful. It is hard to believe that a place this nice can be this inexpensive! It is a quick walk to the train station and then just one stop away from Sorrento. Quite easy for day trips to other areas on the Sorrentine Peninsula. When I come back to Europe, I'll come to Sorrento just so I can stay here again!

I spent a month in Italy traveling around, and stayed in all types of accommodation, this was the best place I stayed in! The facilities are outstanding. The Hostel is within walking distance from the train station, and was the perfect location for day trips to Sorrento, Capri and Pompeii. The staff were extremely helpful and went above and beyond to accommodate. I highly recommend this hostel to anyone traveling to this part of Italy.

My wife and I had the pleasure to spend a few nights at Seven. Stayed in one of the single rooms which was nicely appointed. The staff was very courteous, attentive and professional. They helped us book a guided boat trip around Capri that was one of the highlights of our trip. Seven is easily located and close enough to Sorrento via bus or taxi. They provided a generous breakfast and super fast internet service. Had dinner two nights during our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed each meal. Great value overall.

To call Seven a "hostel" is somewhat of a disservice. It's truly more like a hotel that also accommodates hostel travelers. If you stay in one of the single rooms you would never know it was a hostel. Well, except for the college students. I highly recommend Seven to the budget traveler as the place to stay along the Amalfi Coast. That is, unless you are staying in Casa Angelina in Praiano. They are somewhat related, but that is a whole, another story.

Congratulations on making it a great place to stay!
