“Best you can get for that price in the area”
Reviewed September 21, 2012

It is a walk from the train station to the hotel. The new furnished hostel is clean and worth for the money, while all hotels are very expensive in the area. It offers a chance for low budget travller to have a good overnights.

Large hostel with lots of communal space and nice outside balcony areas. The private rooms are very small but perfectly adequate (clean and functional.) The dorms are better value, with lots of space, natural light and the ensuites have several shower cubicles. This feels more like a resort than a dorm. There is not much personality in the modern furniture and staff, whilst perfectly pleasant, weren't overly helpful with local info. Unexpectedly the cheeseburger was pretty damn good! This would be a fine place to stop for a few days, but not much longer.

Absolutely fantastic place in a beautiful spot. Amazing value and our double room had its own private balcony with two sun loungers, which we weren't expecting! The roof bar and terrace are brilliant (though the bar had slightly erratic opening hours) and the whole feel of the place is laid back. The hostel is impeccably clean and very smart - much cleaner than many hotels, and in many respects indistinguishable from or better than a hotel if you book a double room.

It's a little bit of a trek in and out of Sorrento - 25 min walk or one stop on the (very reasonable) train - but it does get a little wearing if you have to go back in the day for whatever reason. The downstairs bar does good food in the evening and is very well stocked, with staff who know what they're doing with cocktails, but is a little lacking in atmosphere (lots of neon!). Breakfast was included - another bonus we weren't expecting - but was a little limited to basic cereals and cakes. Some fruit or fruit juice instead of squash would have been great.

These are really minor quibbles. If you're on a budget (or even if not) this place will take some beating. Would definitely come here again. Book it now!

Room Tip: If you're booking a double room, ask for the room with the large balcony. No extra charge and me...

I was completely shocked by Seven Hostel - it was amazing. The entire place was huge and fancy - it felt more like a posh hotel than a hostel, and we got a great low price. We stayed in an 18 bed dorm which had tall bunkbeds (no need to duck or watch your head while sitting up on the bottom) which were nice and comfortable with large locking cabinets to store your belongings in. It didn't feel crowded at all - the room was massive and there were dividing walls to keep it feeling more private. The bathrooms were clean and had many, many showers - we never had to wait to use one. The property was lovely - the walkway to the second floor rooms was a balcony overlooking a courtyard/common area, and the main floor had a restaurant and bar as well as a lounge area and a computer room. I can't say enough about how nice the whole place was. I wish we had spent more than a weekend there, I would definitely like to go back.

The hostel was located in a nice area, although it's a bit far from Sorrento (where we had originally planned to stay). We walked to and from Sorrento each day, which takes about 25 minutes if you aren't stopping to take pictures or stare at the ocean and scenery (it took us about 1 1/2 hrs the first time), but either way it's a beautiful walk. If you prefer to be quicker, there were also buses or maybe the train.

There were a couple small negatives - there was no working wifi when we were there, which meant we waited to use one of the 3 computers that were publicly available for a pretty long time. Also, the shower stalls had very, very lightly frosted glass doors, which looked very nice you realized that when you're in one, it's almost completely clear and people can see you showering. Lastly, the one night that we decided to have appetizers at the bar while waiting for a friend, the server must have forgot to put in our order because we waited for ages for it and he looked startled when he saw us again and rushed off to get it, and when it finally came the food was hot on the outside but stone cold in the middle. Judging from other reviewers saying the food was great, though, I figure this was just an unlucky negative experience and that it's usually very good.

I would seriously recommed this hostel to anyone wanting to visit Sorrento, Sant'Agnello, or travel to other places nearby like the Amalfi Coast. I still can't believe how nice this place was, especially considering how cheap it was!

Did backpacking threw all of europe and this was hands down the best place!!

Staff is totally helpful and rooms are awesome!

I stayed in a 6 person dorm the first night and it was nice and clean.

2nd night I stayed in a private with my boyfriend and we had a blast. Even came with a mini balcony! We had a TV and a very nice and clean bathroom!! You even get a lot of tv channels even though you won't be watching!

There are two bars one on the main level and another uptop with a AWESOME view!

Food was great too! And we arrived there super late and they still served us!

The town is super cute, its a little walk to the hotel but its well worth it!!

I can't say enough about this great place!!!! STAY HERE!! Everyone you meet is here to have a good time!! Enjoy it!

After recently staying in seven hostel I was shocked by the standard of facilities- way above any hostel I have stayed in before. The receptionist and bar staff were very helpful, serving delicious food and providing a pleasant bar to relax in the evening. the location is a little bit of a pain but considering the inflated prices in sorrento it is well worth the pleasant walk or one stop on the train. The roof garden is beautiful with amazing views over the bay.
