Lunch for 4 last week. Most vegetables from their farm nearby, lovely, informed service from the owner's son, superb wine suggestion - Italian gewurtztraminer. The absolute food highlight from 8 days in Italy. They also have an agriturismo nearby that one of our party will be visiting this week. It's as it should be here. Go.

One evening we departed from the group menu and really enjoyed a wonderful dinner. The antipasto was a meal in itself and the mixed grill far also on the generous side. A good Banff Chianti and ice water completed the excellence of the meal - we were too full for what appeared to be tasty deserts and then we did agree that a Tuscan Brandy would complete the excellent dinner.

The food was delicious - starter, main, dessert, all really yummy - no frill, just pure taste of high-quality produce which was expertly prepared. A really enjoyable experience!

I enjoyed today at New Year's lunch, the ristorante "Alla Balestra" (The crossbow) in Sansepolcro, which is the Town of Piero della Francesca (a must to see museum). Looking for something of the local tradition, I asked for their suggestion. I had a very special " Ribollita" followed by a non easy to find " Cervella Fritte " : Fried brains of beef. Fantastic!
They were fried with "olio vergine d'oliva" produced from the close to Florence farm of the owner, Mr. Mario. I paired all with a Chianti "Rùfina" from the "Fattoria di Grignano", an excellent choice to repeat, for sure!
To choose the two small rooms which are more intimate and it should be amazing to eat at the veranda, during summer.
A great traditional restaurant where you can feel the pride of the personnel for the legacy of the town and the passion of a well done job.
Last, but not least, I saw on the menu that are indicated the food traceability of the different meal choices. I appreciated it a lot!
