We visited Enoteca Guidi on the recommendation of a local. It certainly is a haunt for locals in the charming town of Sansepolcro. This unassuming restaurant on a side street would not be our normal choice but we are glad we preserved and sat at our table outside.
Firstly the Italian waiter was great, real fun guy who spoke good English.
The menu was varied with antipasti, pasta dishes as well as cooked meat dishes and truffel inspired delicacies.
We both opted for a simple but delicious pear, brie, crispy pancetta & lettuce salad to start followed by another delicious ricotta & spinach ravioli with a red pepper cream yum!, my partner had a sausage tagliatelle which was just as good and my eldest a black truffel frittata which he devoured. The youngest two had a very tasty pasta with home made ragu.
We enjoyed a light and fizzy house procesco but the large selection of wine was very appealing.
The service was attentive and quick and the waiter gave us some great truffle buying advice and in fact we then bought some direct from the restaurant which had only arrived yesterday direct from the man (and his dog!) who sniffed them out.
A great find, the best food of our trip and a some truffles to take home.
