“Unfriendly!”
Review of San Remo Casino

San Remo Casino
Reviewed August 24, 2013

We popped to the casino one night to see if we could get a drink on the roof terrace. The staff we met were pretty unfriendly and followed us around. We were taken up to the terrace, where we were told we couldn't just get a drink, escorted to another bar, and then told we needed to register to stay for a drink. At which point, we decided to find somewhere nicer to go!

Very simple and basic casino with slot machines only. would have liked proper roulette tables. Ok for a little flutter

I had visions of a Monte Carlo style casino. The building itself is quite impressive from the outside. Inside, it is nothing more than two stories of cramped slots parlours. There were no table games we could see and the staff all seemed like they wanted to be somewhere else.

The place looks quite imposing and impressive from the outside but once you walk through the door you are going to be disappointed.
We walked inside and turned left passed the security and all we could find were slot machines, and more slot machines, hardly anyone playing but lots of machines.
We'd been told this was the biggest and the best casino in Italy, all I can say is the others must be pretty dismal.
We walked around trying to find a bar or restaurant or at least some gaming tables but to no avail, so we asked a security guard where the gaming room was, he didn't understand till I mentioned 'green tables' then he understood. He directed us down a corridor, thru a door and up some stairs. We followed his directions only to be told at the top of the stairs we have to go back down and get a ticket, so we did. we had to show our passports and have our photos taken just to get in, then back up the stairs to the gaming room, well sort of a gaming room, I have seen more life in a morgue. We stayed 10 minutes and left, we have seen better and more entertaining casinos in small town Australia than here at Italy's biggest and best.
