My husband and I took a day trip to San Pellegrino today.
We were looking for a typical Italian restaurant for lunch and decided to walk away from the main square establishments and walked half a block up the street toward the old casino.
This is where we found the Cafe Liberty on Viale C. Mazzoni, 13.
It was a quiet afternoon so after been seated the chef came out of the kitchen and asked what we would like to try.
He gave us many wonderful appetizing options.
Finally we settled for his suggestion on an asparagus risotto as the first course then followed by a tasting of his local house made pasta.
As a main course we chose a rabbit dish served with crispy fried sage, polenta and delicious
A bottle of red and white wine were opened and priced according to the amount of wine we each had.
Including a litter of San Pellegrino water the bill for the 2 of us was 32 Euros.
The food was exquisite and we were totally astonished at the great value we received for what we paid.
This restaurant is owned and operated by two brothers who have been there for many years.
You won t be disappointed in your decision to walk up half a block from the square.
