I have never been to hotel at Christmas where it is as quiet as a library. They have a guy playing the piano with such depressing tunes it clears the room within 10 minutes and everyone goes back to their room. The whole atmosphere of the hotel, the décor, the closed bar most of the time, is aimed at wealthy pensioners (who I am sure would enjoy a more lively hotel within reason). The staff are very friendly, even if they didn't realise the satellite dish was not working for foreign channels for more than 3 days. The room was excellent but changing the temperature was a challenge, the bar didn't stock Diet Coke or Coke Zero but they went to the supermarket and bought some, and the restaurant food is first class. There is lots of great skiing to be had around San Martino di Castrozza, and the ski bus stops 50 metres from the hotel.
It could be an amazing hotel if the owners didn't want to cater for clients who don't exist anymore. Most of the guests in the hotel I spoke to, said they only stayed there, because they couldn't get a room in a different hotel at New Year. There is very little space for children in the 'animation room' which is just indicative to the hotels attitude.
It's time for the owners to start thinking about what the clients want !

We stayed here in mid-August 2012 and had a great time. The family that runs this hotel are wonderful and the room was fantastic. No complaints at all. The staff was always smiling, helpful, pleasant and kind. We had to leave very early on our day of departure and they were happy to cater a breakfast for us so we could be on the road by 0530. Views from our balcony were breathtaking. The breakfast staff in the dining room were very helpful and courteous. Their attached restaurant, La Canisela, was a joy to eat at with a wonderful menu, sumptuous dishes and excellent service. We would definitely stay hereagain. Bravo!

Room Tip: Our south facing suite was spectacular!

I just came back from San Martino. My family and I were so happy to be back there after having spent Christmas Holiday in Malga Ciapela. The latter is an excellent place for ski-lovers but we 'd rather stay at a more lively place . My family and I have been to this hotel several times before and have always been satisfacted. The location is just perfect. A real edge is the stunning view of the Pale di San Martino: breathtaking!
The rooms are spacious and clean (cleaning is provided at least twice a day). The common spaces are charming and comfortable. The restaurant is excellent as well as the staff. The owners of the hotel are very nice and helpful people.

We had a wonderful stay and a great family holiday in this most beautiful town. The hotel is centrally located and ideal for many great walks. The Rimondi family and their staff made us very welcome and were always very helpful. We only had bed and breakfast in the hotel so cannot comment on the other meals but the breakfast was of a good standard.
Although relatively small the pool was a welcome addition and we used it frequently - a real plus in an area like this where few hotels seem to have pools. All in all a great place to stay - we would go back.

Room Tip: We stayed in a suite which was a large comfortable space and a great family room. Wonderful views f...

I have been to the G. Hotel des Alpes , in San Martino di Castrozza and it was awesome!
As we booked online, we had been attracted by the positive reviews about this hotel and we now totally agree with them. Everything is excellent.
People staying at the hotel are of a certain kind, somehow sophisticated. I don’t mean they are snob, but it was nice to be surrounded by that kind of crowd.
Our room was perfect (junior suite). It costed 100 Euros per night per person on half board, which it’s not a high price at all . In addition, wellness area was included.
We had dinner at the hotel’s restaurant and we liked it a great deal: food and wine were exquisite.
The wine menu is remarkable as it includes the most famous wineries of Trentino (34/40 Euros per bottle on average).
Living rooms are cozy and elegant.
Live music nights are enjoyable and the music creates a very pleasant atmosphere.
I strongly recommend this hotel and if I’ll go back to Italy I’ll come back for sure!
Ps. There is also an indoor charming smoking room equipped with a 60’’ lcd tv! Who can resist a good glass of brandy with a cigar?

We found the Hotel was excellent in service and location. The ski bus came across the street and the ski pass was around the corner a walk away from the shopping center and the local cafes. Dinner and breakfest was included, the only problem that we encountered was that during dinner they chef recomended a certain wine that was 35euro and it tasted awful for the first initial sip. Ordered a cheaper and very smooth wine, at the end of check out I had to pay for the wine (35euro) that i had a sip and tasted awful. be aware of what you ordered and signed if it has been opened you are paying for it!. Other then that it was great people how worked there, Karem and the extra sauna and pool and massage was great. Have fun
