Beautiful place for skiing or for walking. Nice apartment with view on mountains. Good for family with small children. There is also small swiming pool in the hotel. Include also towels, bathrobes and basic equipment in the kitchen. We like it too much.

Positives: Very friendly staff, efficient check-in, well equipped room with small kitchenette and good storage. Spotlessly clean. Hotel also has spa, swimming pool and an excellent kids clubs with entertainment. 250m walk to the centre of town and the restaurants and cafes and ski bus. Separate room in hotel for skis and boots and lockers. All rooms were well heated. Fantastic views from the terrace.

Negatives: Breakfast was a little expensive for 8 euros per person. Could do with a larger option from cold food (cornflakes, bread and ham) - perhaps to introduce some hot food. The beds are a little hard and the room walls are a little thin. It is no exaggeration to say we heard shoelaces hitting the floor - take ear plugs if noise disturbs you. However, we never heard any noise past 930pm and slept well.

Although a bit dated, the facility has obviously been well kept, and the spa area recently rebuilt. It is located in the center of the town, with a ski bus stop some 50m away. We had a junior suite, which was relatively small but space efficient. Everything worked fine, save for the main fuse which blew a couple of times, but Guido from the reception desk was at hand to help. Saying this, the reception and spa crews were generally extremely hospitable and spoke good English, which is not always the case in Italy. The room was fitted with an old-fashioned manual thermostat and we could regulate the temperature to our liking - thank God, no fancy 23rd century energy saving equipment that leaves you freezing most of the day. I am saying this because in certain other, much fancier establishments we all got ill because the keepers were of a view that from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. guests are supposed to be in bed and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. skiing, and that the heating was therefore superfluous. The ski room lockers are spacious enough, ventilated and well heated. A warm recommendation!

Staff was very polite and nice. Rooms and all premises were clean and tidy. As we were traveling with our daughter, we wanted to include her in playing room with other kids. She was afraid because she did not speak any Italian word but animator lady helped her and she was delighted. Swimming pool is enough to relax after a good day of skiing. The only thing that could be a little bit better was the sofa bed we were sleeping in and pillows, but besides that i could only recommend this place!

Room tip: choose a room with an acctual bed not a sofa bed

I have spent 4 nights is a two room apartment with my wife and child. The Sporting Club Residence is located just a few steps from everything you might need in San Martino di Castrozza (shops, restaurant, bus station, ...). The apartment was spacious and with all the comfort we needed (and as promised on their web page).
