“A magical hotel in the alps”
Reviewed March 4, 2012

The Orso Bianco has become a very special place for us. First my now husband proposed to me there under the moonlight then a year later it was the venue for our wedding reception.
Dawn, Simone and their fantastic team make the perfect hosts at this friendly mountain hotel. Nothing is too much trouble. Good quality, tasty local food is guranteed. The rooms are spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. Ideal location to be first on the slopes. The Orso Bianco is a hotel which I am sure will draw you back time after time.

I don't go back to the same place twice, but this little hotel makes you first on the mountain in the morning and is just great. Simple clean comfy room, good food, great location and value for money. A real ski heads paradise. I was there January 2011 and booked before I left for 2012, but this time taking friends back too. Can't wait.

Returning for the forth time, the best location in the area, great food and service, friendly staff, ski shop next door. will prove even better with new lift layout in 2011/12. skiers delight although nightlife is what you make it as it is up the mountain.

It is always rare to find somewhere you really, really look forward to going back to. The Orso Bianco is one of those places, it is that good.

From the moment you get on the Sportinia Quad Chairlift to get whisked up the mountain to the hotel, perched on Sportiinia (the main ski area), you know it is going to be special.

The staff are superb, genuinely want you to have a top time, and are really friendly. The food is honest, proper Italian / Piemonte grub, filling, hearty and local. The rooms are simple, clean and well kept.

And the best bit?

You can be on the very first chairlift before ANYONE else, at 9am, already half way up the mountain. Or, if you fancy a stunning red run into the village, with not one other person on the piste, then this is for you.

Some people wonder if it is problematic being not in the village... well, I can assure it is not. Simone from the hotel can hire you equipment from the hotel's own ski hire office, and if you want to have dinner in the village... go down on the last chair at 5pm and enjoy a thrill - a - second ride back up the mountain on SkiDoos later on!!

Sauze is a great resort, accessible, friendly, the best snow in 33 years this season, and the Orso Bianco means you can truly enjoy your skiing. Simone will even arrange taxi transfers from Turin airport to the bottom of the ski lift!

Roll on my next visit!

This hotel is a true skiers dream. A top the chairlift at 2135m. Excellent price, service, food, hospitality. Don't expect wild nightlife though, you can only get back from the village at night by skidoo. Our second visit with a group of 14. Full access to the Via Lattea with amazing runs and great snow at 2135m and above before everyone else in the morning. If you are looking for spa's and massage don't go here. If you want the best access to skiing this is the place to start. Fall out the door and onto the slope. Simone and the team sort out everything for you. Transfers from Turin. Ski Hire Etc. Arrive at 12 noon and you will be skiing at 12.15. No messing around here.

a hidden gem on the mountainside.
We felt thoroughly at home in this little hotel. Staff excellent; attentive, very friendly and fun. Rooms were cosy and spotlessly keen.
Nothing was too much trouble.
We would heartily recommend Orso Bianco
