Never been to Sauze before, because of it's reputation for being cheap and noisy, but we will go back. The hotel was good - clean, efficient (this is Italy) and friendly. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. The room was cosy and compact, but we hadn't gone to swing the cat - it's where we slept, and that's all we wanted from it.The food was varied, and although there was a lot of pasta, and Robertsa or Janina sulked if you didn't want a huge plateful, there were 5 courses every night, and skiing makes me hungry - and thirsty. The bar was a nice place to be, and with house red at 10 eoros a bottle for something that we thought was eminently drinkable, and a selection of grappas, you could spend a week without going out - but if you want to the town is 3 minutes walk away, and there was a variety of places to go, from noisy places showing football on tv, to places with live music, to a wine bar in the old town that was a good place for me to take my posh bird.
Bad bits - don't think that the taxi will come just because you have booked it, don't trust the piste map, and don't go to this hotel if you only like burger and chips. Otherwise, enjoy. We did. And the price was right.More
