Hotel Vittoria is charming, the staff are very helpful and friendly, the rooms are clean and have all the amenities you need, the breakfast was basic but very good. The restaurant downstairs serves german food, which looked very good. Just one thing to consider, when we were booking the hotel advertised free parking - however, on arrival at the hotel we were told the parking is in a free public car park about five minutes from the hotel and a space isn't guaranteed - we were lucky and found a space, but at high season I can imagine it would be difficult, there did seem to be other car parks in the area, and for the price we paid at the hotel we wouldn't have minded having to pay for parking. Would definitely stay there again.

Hotel Vittoria was fine: AC, elevator, good breakfast. The only problem was "finding"it. We took the bus from Rovereto to Riva del Garda and walked up Viale Dante to number 39, Hotel Vittoria (also a restaurant). But it was locked. So we sat down to rest at the outdoor tables. A few minutes later the door opened and the lady said she "saw us through the window." Turns out this entrance is closed between 2:00 p.m and 5:00 p.m. So you have to walk around the block to Vittoria's entrance on Viale Discipline 18, directly behind. No mention of this was made in our e-mail exchange when making the reservation. So if you get there between 2 and 5, go to Viale Discipline 18 instead of Viale Dante 39. This may seem like a minor issue, but after a day of trains and busses, in heat and humidity, and you don't know why the hotel is locked, it is annoying. The hotel is about 3 blocks from the waterfront and the ferries.

Located in the historic center (i.e. within the city walls), spacious rooms, fairly quiet, great service, superb German restaurant downstairs, plenty of great italian restaurants around, plus shops and tourist attractions, near to hiking paths in the nearby hills (not fot the faint of hewart though), walking distance from congress center, can rent bikes nearby, etc. Will go back whenever we're in the Trentino area.
