My sister-in-law and I spent a week here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Arrived at 2 a.m. but no problem as rep had pass to get into reception and our room keys were waiting for us. Twin room overlooking the pool area was adequate for our requirments. Very handy having a fridge and a small safe (no charge as in a lot of hotels). We did take our own travel kettle and tea/coffee which was a godsend and found a supermarket close by for milk biscuits etc. The passage out of the back of the hotel is very handy and takes you right into the hub of shops and restaurants. A very short walk out reception door takes you down to the lake where you get the boat for short trips to surrounding villages. The solarium on the second floor was great for sunbathing. During our week stay in Sept. we never so a sole.....exclusive use!!! The breakfast had a very extensive selection of delights. If you can't find something to please......what do you eat at home???? A perfect base to stay in the beautiful Riva del Garda! X

Room Tip: The twin room we stayed in overlooked pool and was absolutely fine

Arrived at 10.30pm after a 4 hour drive from Malpensa, Milan. Took longer to get to hotel than it took to fly from Edinburgh! Had asked for a twin room but was given a double - eventually got a double bed with a camp bed style single. Got pass to go out the back way but it was very dark and the lights only activated with movement. Room was spartan to say the least. Considering I paid extra (over £110) to be upgraded I wasn't happy. No lounge, bar and pool were closed and although I knew we were booked in for bed and breakfast I wasn't aware that this was not an hotel as I know it. Subsequently another couple asked to be moved and the rep from Newmarket was very helpful and pleasant.

Introduction
Stayed here for a week with my wife + teenage daughter on a Newmarket B+B, holiday by air recently.

First impressions;
After an unavoidable traffic delay we finally arrived at the hotel around 11pm, no problems initially, we were greeted at the reception given keys/passes etc, room not too bad,
BUT, only being on a B+B package no meal/food was available and we had taken none as we estimated we would be at the hotel around 7pm or 8 at the latest. I went for a brief recce (alone) but the way into town was down a dark passage, so I lost my nerve! (Strange country, dark alleyways etc) so went back to the room and we had to make do with chocolate and peanuts, the only food we had brought with us for the flight.

The Hotel;
In the daylight this little (private) passage into town is actually one of the main selling points of this hotel, as the front is on a main road into Garda. So this route with your own swipe card is the way into town in a matter of minutes if not seconds, straight out of the hotel lift. We had a reasonable sized room for three people, wall mounted TV, double bed and a chair which was folded out to make the third bed, with a similar chair still left as a chair, with enough space also for a small table and couple of chairs. One surprise was that at the end of the room there was what looked like a large wardrobe when on opening it up it was a complete kitchenette, with cooker fridge, all cooking utensils to do a basic self-catering holiday. So in retrospect we did not do too badly with our room allocation, when reading other reports, incidentally it was on the second floor with no view as such, (ie just the neighbours)
At the end of the corridor was the sun lounge, see pics it was the roof over the reception, overlooking the road but you could see the lake. The pool area was ‘okay’, I’m not a big fan of sitting on wooden decking in hotel grounds looking at mock/pseudo Hawaiian bars, but everyone to their own, my wife and daughter spend some time there when I was walking or kitesurfing.
So the only minor gripes would be no bath and no English channels on the TV.

Food/breakfast
Very good selection which in some ways was actually counterproductive!!
As when you are confronted with cakes, fruit pie desserts, crème caramels, yogurts, plus the usual assortment of breads, rolls, meats, cheeses, cereal, Oh! and cooked options including sausages(admittedly not Walls) eggs boiled and scrambled, plus other things, but you get the picture…I’m I had things just for the sake of trying them and not because they were that filling or nutritional. Anyway by the end of the week I was onto cheese rolls and other ‘sensible’ things.

The surroundings
Most of this has been covered but I will confirm that if you are going to Lake Garda, then Riva Del Garda is probably your best starting point, you have everything on hand, walks, biking, water activities and the beautiful surroundings.

In summary
We went expecting the worse, ie budget hotel, but we were pleasantly surprised, far exceeded our expectations, and would use/recommend to anyone else.

Unfortunately we were allocated a disabled room and the shower did not have any rim so the water flooded the bathroom because the shower door seal was inadequate.
We complained but unfortunately there were no other rooms available so we asked for a mop.
The friendly guy on reception could only find a sweeping brush and a tea towel so we made do as best we could.
The breakfast room (in and out) and the breakfast is great and there is a pool.
The back door opens up into the town at the back of the hotel means it is a great location and there is parking so our experience was marred by the terrible bathroom otherwise we may have been able to give it a higher rating

Room Tip: Make sure the bathroom does not flood if you are given a disabled room before you accept it

Started badly and got progressively worse. Reception dirty and unmanned. Our room was dirty, toilet seat broken, shower door fell off whilst trying to close it, patio doors did not open!!!! No bed linen on the bed at 3pm (we arrived 2 hours late due to traffic delays) bed linen appeared some hours later. Private kids party in the pool, with extremely loud disco!!!!

We contacted our rep, who came over immediately and fully agreed with our complaints. Arranged for us to be moved to another hotel, but sadly this was to take a couple of days. From that point on wards, the already abrupt staff became exceptionally rude to us, telling us that we had to go now etc. It was then like running the gauntlet every time we left or came back to our room, as everytime we were accosted and asked to leave or questioned why we had not gone yet!!

We stayed here for a week. The staff were friendly and accommodating, breakfast was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool which was always quiet, and the location was second to none. Air conditioning would have been a bonus ~(I would have given 5 stars then)

Recently returned from a stay here at this very clean, well run family hotel in the center of Riva.

We received a warm welcome (despite arriving just at the moment Italy had lost the final in the Euro cup!!). Our room overlooked the pool and into the mountains beyond, had the room been a little bit larger I would have rated this stay as 5 star, this being the only disappointment we had. Breakfast was good for a 3 star establishment, the hotel was spotless and all the staff friendly.

The Hotel has good parking at the front, whilst at the rear it has pedestrian access directly into the main shopping area of the old town from where it is a 5 minute walk down to the main plaza and the ferry terminal. If you wish to relax, the good sized pool surrounded by mountain views is a little oasis.
