We stayed at the Villa Nicolli for one week during mid July. Our room had a fantastic view over the vineyard at the rear of the hotel looking onto the mountains behind but being at the rear we only had sun in the morning, which wasn't such a bad thing when you'd been out all day in it. The pool was great and it was cleaned daily. It was very shaded by the trees though and I thought the sun beds could have been arranged differently to make the most of the sun. The garden by the pool was a quiet retreat.

Our room was clean and the hotel was also.

I did have a gripe with the desserts at dinner though, how greedy are some people! There would have been plenty to go around if people didn't have 3 or 4 at a time .... each! Geting a dessert was like getting a sunbed ... you had to get there early to stand a chance. Service wasn't that quick in the restaurant either but since we weren't in a rush it wasn't a big issue. The menu was interesting, every evening there was a theme e.g. pasta, beef etc overall the food was very good and the salad bar fantastic. The bottled wine in the restaurant was expensive though.

There was a computer just off the reception for internet access, I didn't use it although many guests did.

Overall the hotel was good and we would stay here again. We loved Riva, it was our second time visiting the area.

Stayed in Hoel Nicolli for 1 week in July. Booked a superior room and was not disappointed. Reception staff were very helpful as were all of the staff at the hotel, nothing was to much bother. Facilities, food and location were all excellent. I had been apprehensive after reading some of the reviews. Having stayed there I wondered had the people who had written the negative reviews really stayed at the same hotel !!! Would certainly recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

We have just retiurned from Italy after staying in the Villa Nicolli and have had a wonderful holiday! I read some negative reviews before we went and just had to put the record straight.
We arrived at 9.30pm on Saturday night and were met by Alessandra, a very friendly receptionist who checked us in. We were then given a salad in the bar because the restaurant had closed. The head waiter explained that the vineyard behind the hotel produced their own wine, they grew their own vegetables and made their own bread each morning.
Our room was a junior suite, with views of the mountains and the vineyard. It was large and spotless.
Breakfast was served on the terrace by friendly staff. There was never a shortage of sunloungers even though the hotel was full.
The first night we went to the restaurant at 7pm after reading a review about a shortage of food.
However, on our next day we had been on a day trip to Venice and got to the restaurant at 8.30pm, (dinner finishes at 9pm). We had more than enough food and the head waiter asked us if we needed any more desserts set out! The food each night was superb! You are allocated a table on the first night and this remains your table for your stay. We were beside a lovely friendly couple from England and enjoyed many long chats over dinner.
All staff were helpful and friendly especially Mauro, Alessandra and the Head Waiter.
The pool bar was open thorughout the day and lunch was served on the terrace.
I would reccomend this hotel as being excellent and only assume that the negative reviews came from people who are never pleased. We were waited on hand and foot for a week! It was our 20th wedding anniversary during our stay and when we came back to our room after dinner we had sparkling wine on ice plus a basket of fruit.
There were some children there but they were quite young. I imagine this hotel to be fairly quiet for older children.

This was our first tiime visiting Lake Garda and based our decision to book Hotel Villa Nicolli on the previous reviews on this site - we weren't disappointed.

I would advise people to book a superior room as there is an anex to the hotel where I think standard rooms are based. This building, although I didn't see inside, did not appear to be anywhere near as nice and I know of one couple who paid to be upgraded.

The hotel, rooms, its pool and grounds were spotless. The staff were all very friendly and the food was also very good. It was quite a small hotel so very quiet and mostly couples with 1 or 2 families.

Located an easy 10 min walk down to the lakeside and main port/square. I did not come across another hotel which looked better.

This is an excellent hotel with friendly staff. Table service is good, food is good.

Make sure that you get a room in the main hotel as there is an annex which isn’t actually in the main hotel block. We had heard that some guests had been put in the annex and weren’t happy about it..

About 15 minutes from the centre of the town. Location is very quite at night. There was a few weddings in the hotel during our stay but you couldn’t hear any noise in the room we were staying in.

Overall, no complaints and a pleasant experience
