We arrived at the Bristol as part of our "Seven cities of Italy " tour with Newmarket Travel after being delayed at Manchester Airport for 5 hours. Our rooms were allocated in the annexe, which although clean were very small, dowdy and in need of imminent updating. We believe from our fellow travellers who were allocated rooms in the main building were of a much higher standard. All other aspects of the hotel, food, service etc. were good although the location, which we expected to be near the shores of Lake Garda was a 20 minute walk from the centre. We enjoyed our stay there but the annexe is definately in need of updating.

Room Tip: Keep clear of the annexe

This is a fairly average hotel. The food was reasonable and the staff spoke English. The swimming pool was cold - I wasn't brave enough to use it - when we were there in June.
The town is quite a long walk away but is well worth a visit.

We stayed here for six nights as part of the Leger 'Delights of Lake Garda' tour. We found the hotel to be spotlessly clean, nicely decorated and with first class english speaking staff. The food was good and plentiful, pasta figured quite prominently in the menu but hey this is Italy and it was excellent pasta. Our room was to the back of the hotel with a small balcony overlooking a little olive grove with a view of the mountains, not spectucular but we have had a lot worse. Our twin room was very clean, air conditioned, of a good size with a very good en suite shower room. The outdoor pool is quite large and again very clean. Our only criticisms were the beds were a bit too hard for us, but that could be a personal thing, and the hotel is quite a walk, about 20 minutes, from the lake down a very busy not too scenic route.
All in all though a very nice hotel would recommend to anyone.

Room Tip: Try for a room at the rear of the hotel, the road in front is very busy and noisy.

Just spent 10 days at the hotel Bristol where our every need was catered for by friendly and attentive staff, food was fabulous and the gala evening was a delight. This was yet another trip with Travelstyle and again everything was first class with trouble free transfers and well planned journey thanks to Barry and Paul our drivers who were helpful, friendly and informative at every stage and kept us entertained the whole holiday. The trips were wonderful and we were blessed with lovely warm weather so could enjoy the pool most days.

Room Tip: Hotel is on a very busy road so front facing rooms can be noisy

I have just returned (Sept. 2011) from staying here whilst on the Delights of Lake Garda trip with Leger (excellent trip could not recommend more!). Having read some of the reviews on here before travelling I was somewhat apprehensive about staying there, but I cannot see what the bad reviews are about!.We had breakfast & evening meal included in the trip; breakfast continental buffet and a 3 course evening menu which you chose from the menu in the morning (3 choices each course) & the desssert trolley comes round after dinner is served. There is also a fresh salad bar to help yourself from. I am vegetarian and they were most helpful. The gala night was excellent. The staff are so freindly & helpful. I had a single room (still had a double bed!) at the side of the building which had a shower (some had baths too); we all said how clean the rooms were, tv in room. The bar is well stocked and there is 2 nice seating areas outside, the main one near the pool overlooks the mountains. It is about 15 minute walk to the lovely town of Riva and a few mins more to the lake which is beautiful. There are also walks up in to the mountains with stunning views, also boat trips around the harbour and bycyles for hire around the lake. I loved it here!!!
There are a couple of supermarkets nearby so get provisions there for the journey home if travelling via coach (mine was an overnighter) and a Lidl just over the road. Drivers will charge 1 euro for a small bottle whereas a 2 litre in Lidl is 15 cents.

Room Tip: I think the rooms at the front get a lot of traffic noise from the main road outside, for something...

We stayed here on a Newmarket "Seven Cities of Italy" tour. This hotel put on a good meal for us, despite the fact we all arrived about 10.15 on a Sunday night. The food was fairly good; on the Gala Night it was excellent, with live music and dancing too. Our room was a bit cramped, but we weren't in it much so it didn't really matter. Everything was clean and tidy; plenty of clean towels in the nice clean bathroom. The hotel is not very near the harbour or town, but as we were being whisked off everywhere by coach that wasn't too important to us. Nice friendly staff, good service. Bar prices not excessive for a hotel. Overall, a pleasant experience.
