I've been to Riva many times but had never taken the time to go up this small hill which separates Torbole and Riva. You access Monte Brione from Porto San Nicolli which is just before the walkway to Torbole which is 45 minutes from Riva (another lovely walk which most people do on their first visit to Riva) The start of the walk is just to the right past the marina. You'll see some steps going up to a fort type structure which is just before the walkway. When you go up these steps you'll see a sign saying Sentiero di Pace (Peace path). There are lots of view points all the way up. (at one point we went on to a small road which leads up to the masts which you can see at the top, but you can easily stay on the path at the edge and not go to the masts as you might want to just take photos at the wonderful viewpoint on the roof of the fort. We sauntered up one morning and it only took a couple of hours.
