“Highly recommended elegant hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 10, 2013

This is quite a new hotel and has been built and furnished in an elegant, light and modern way with much use of marble in the common areas and bathrooms. The rooms are large, light and bright and have lots of storage space, very comfy large beds and a really nice shower room. The staff here are all very accommodating and the service in the restaurant and standard of room cleanliness are to be highly praised. You are very unlikely to go hungry here; the breakfasts had a huge choice, including cooked and continental choices with fruit, cereals, toast, pastries and even prosecco. Evening meals were 4 courses and of a very high standard. We were on the second floor of six. We did not have a lake view, and I suspect that very few rooms would have one, however we had lovely mountain views and the vistas from floor 6 (the Sky Pool) which can be enjoyed by everyone, are truly magnificent and 360 degrees of lake and beautiful mountains. Low key evening entertainment (piano and other music) is on for, I believe 5 nights each week. This is one hotel we would definitely love to return to.
If you are booking your hotel independently and do not have transfers included be aware that the prices we were quoted, for taxi transfers from the Airport at Verona, were around £325 return. We took the airport shuttle bus to Verona (which runs every 20 minutes and takes about the same journey time) for EUR 6 each, single, then caught the ATV local NO 162 bus service direct to Riva del Garda (about 50 miles I think). It leaves from near the train station that the Airport bus arrives at. The bus was air-conditioned, had plenty of luggage storage room, took a very scenic route all along the western edge of the lake to Riva stopping at lots of resorts and cost about EUR 7 each, single (Bargain!). Local buses are also a great way to get around whilst in Riva. The promenade along the lake in both directions from the hotel is beautiful well maintained and really clean it was a pleasure to walk into Riva or to Torbole. The hotel has bikes which you can borrow free of charge for a few hours so you can cycle along the promenade cycle path to Torbole or Riva easily. Excusions are readily available to Venice, Verona, Milan, the Dolomites with the tour reps. Can't wait to go back

Room Tip: Higher floors would have better views.

We spent 7 days at the Hotel Kristal Palace in Riva Del Garda and had a lovely stay. It's a modern hotel situated off a main road and 15 mins walk into Riva.

The rooms are newly decorated and we were lucky to have 2 balconies. Spacious rooms with a huge, comfortable bed and fantastic shower.

You can take breakfast on the amazing roof overlooking the pool, mountains and lake or in the downstairs dining room. There was always a good choice of food to choose from.

Between 6-7pm, there is a happy hour at the roof-top bar and the cocktails were delicious so we made it our nightly ritual! There is also live music every night at the bar.

Staff were very helpful and friendly and the cleaning staff kept the hotel spotlessly clean.

I can't recommend this hotel enough for it's excellent service, facilities and location.

Room Tip: Try the cocktails during happy hour at the Roof-Top bar!

There isn't much I can add to the other reviews . Very nice hotel, staff were attentive. We were on the 1st. floor and the noise from the lounge area was exceptionally loud, as they had a couple of music nights, the lack of insulation was very poor.
The meals at breakfast was good, but unfortunately for us the evening meal was a let down, ok if you're a meat eater I guess, but we are vegetarians and there was very little choice. It was a case of what ever was on the menu we could have, with the meat taken out. One of the reasons we booked at the Kristal was we thought there would be at least a few vegetarian options, I was even asked what I would like the chef to make me, (one of the reasons I go on holiday is that someone else does the thinking about food).
Speaking to another couple from the sister hotel (and cheaper), they had a reasonable vegetarian choice, which was disappointing for us, with paying quite a lot more.

Room Tip: Higher floors will have less noise level.

Dear Guest,
thank you very much for your review. We are very sorry that you didn't like the food and the vegetarian options. As you write in your review, our service is very attentive at our guest's necessity: we are always ready to prepare something different for vegetarians, celiacs and to fulfill every need. Our menù consists in a 4 course menù, (4 choices each course), plus a rich salad buffet including appetizers and cold platter, mainly vegetarian or mediterranean. We regret that it was a let down for you and you felt not considered enough. We have taken note on your feedback and it is much appreciated. Our Chef prepared a vegetarian menu which will be presented to guests upon request. For the noise from the lounge we apologise, it was raining and we stopped the music night before 23.00 o'clock to don't disturb the quiet of the guests.
Nevertheless we hope you had a save and pleasant trip back home and we look forward to welcoming you back at the Kristal Palace Hotel.

We have just returned from a 7nights stay in The Hotel Kristal palace in Riva del garda.booked through Riviera travel. Riviera are very well organised, well represented at the resort and really nice people to deal with.
On arrival at the hotel we were greeted by the duty receptionist and signed in, given our key and assisted up to our room on the first floor.Initial inspection of the room showed the room to be spotless and well appointed.Closer inspection revealed the patio door to the balcony was open.I attempted to close and lock the door but this was not possible as part of the lock was missing.I returned to the reception and reported the problem and stated that I was unhappy to leave my belongings in an unlocked room and was curtly told that I did not know how to close the door properly and it was impossible to open them from the outside and I should have read the note on the window.I repeated that the door was broken and I did not want to stay in an unlocked room and asked if I could be transfered to another room .The receptionist stated that the hotel was fully booked and the only room available was of a lesser standard and she did not advise we change.I repeated again that I was not happy and she reluctanyly sent a member of staff to look at the door. They agreed with me that part of the lock was missing and the door could not be locked and returned to the receptionist to report this.I was told that the door could not be repaired untill the following day and again I repeated that I was not happy to sleep in an unlocked room.I was told that there was no crime in this area and I would be safe.At this point I gave up and went to have dinner with my wife. When we finished dinner and left the dinning room passing the reception I was told that a tradesman had in fact been sent to the room and repaired the door.No apology was given although my findings were correct.I then retired to bed and experienced the unadvertised enterainment. We were treated to all the toilet habits of the occupants of the two adjoining rooms. Every action and movement from lifting the toilet seat -showering and cleaning their teeth with the sounds of a waterfall every time the toilet was flushed added to noise from the football team staying in the room above ours. This level of noise is totally unacceptable in a 4+ star hotel.May I suggest a member of the hotels staff stays in one of these rooms for a week and we could compare notes. As a retired construction manager I have been involved with the construction of several hotels and buildings requiring soundproof rooms and as the Kristal palace has only been built recently I fail to understand why more attention was not given to a major detail as this.I would not stay in this hotel again.

Room Tip: If all the rooms are built to the same standard then you will not find a quite room.May-be on the to...

Dear Mister Higgins88,
we are very sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay in Kristal Palace. A part the problem with the locker, wich has been sorted in less than half an hour, we hope that the rest of the service (cleanliness, food, pool, ...) was good. About the noise, we had a problem with the supplier of the doors. We will change all of them at the end of the season with top quality soundproof doors.
I sincerely hope to have you again as our guest.
With best regards

just returned from italy staying at the kristal palace hotel with riviera travel, we chose this hotel even though it more expensive than the others in the brochure and we were not disappointed the rooms were superb, absolutely spotless with complimentary toiletries and clean towels twice daily, the bed was huge and extremely comfortable. Even better was the food on offer it was sublime, the choice was excellent and every course worth waiting for and the breakfasts were pretty special too. The rooftop pool was lovely and the views from there were breathtaking. We would recommend this hotel too anyone who likes the best as we would say its the best we have ever stayed in.

Room Tip: all rooms are excellent, we were on the first floor but i would say higher floors have better views

Friendly staff, good selection of food for breakfast, nice room, but require some deep dusting. Wi-fi available in room. No expresso or capuccino in restaurant for breakfast, but you can have it on the pool roof. The only remark we have is for the insulation of the room walls, it is terrible. Other than that, ot was just fine

The hotel is very well located near restaurants, bars, the lake..
All the rooms are new and clean and the bathrooms have a seperate shower!
There is a very nice swimmingpool on the roof with a bar and "top-bartenders", also the food is great! The hotel is not really cheap but worth every euro.
Thanks for the great service and the free upgrade :-)
