We chose Hotel Remilia (formerly Ramada Inn) because it was well located for driving, very near the Autostrada, at the Reggio Emilia exit, between Parma and Modena. Since it is a hotel which attracts business people, we expected good internet connections. There is wifi in the spacious lobby, and places to sit, but in the rooms the cable connection is not compatible with Mac products, so there is no possibility of using Apple devices in rooms, which was very disappointing.
The hotel itself is just a few years old, and comfortable enough, with studiously contemporary decor. Bathrooms are good, furniture modern and clean. The rooms have smooth wood floors. The only carpets are in the hallways, and they are sorely in need of cleaning, or better yet, replacement.
The staff is friendly and tries very hard to help with anything needed. The food in the dining room is reasonable and more than adequate, with a large buffet of salads and vegetables available for 6 euro, additional to your dinner. Breakfast was OK.
The hotel is located in a semi-industrial area, and there seems to be a smell of exhaust in the outside air, but inside the hotel it is OK. There is plenty of free parking in the hotel lot.More
