A nice restaurant tucked away from the bustle of the main square. Food good & reasonably priced & the facility to eat inside or outside (undercover).

Thank philardy

After walking around Ravello for several hours we chanced upon this lovely little restaurant which advertised a 15 euro two course meal. We were tempted by the reasonable price but were in a rush to catch the bus back to Amalfi. We explained this to our waiter who assured us we could still order the two course dinner (which my husband did). He enjoyed his meal and my daughter and I ordered one course each, which were also delicious. We sat on the outside terrace and enjoyed the ambience.

We eat here for five consecutive evenings and can honestly say that we enjoyed the food, the wine and the service every time!
The food is good honest family Italian food , well prepared and cooked and served with a smile.
Tables are spotless and you can eat inside or on the terrace.
We always enjoyed our chats with the charming host and his young wife who were always attentive, interested in our comments on their food and even gave us some local history!
|This is THE place to eat in Ravello, please give it a try!

We were in Ravello for five nights and having discovered Figli di Papa on our first evening, we enjoyed our meal and the friendliness and informality of the restaurant so much we went on to eat there on all but one evening of our stay. The restaurant is in an apparently very old building with high vaulted ceilings and simply and tastefully decorated. The restaurant appeared scrupulously clean. Main courses we ate included sword fish dressed in tomato sauce; mixed grilled fish including octopus, squid, swordfish and prawns; veal cooked with lemon; an excellent grilled steak, and chicken cooked with sage. These were accompanied by fresh salads, a delicious parmigiana, potatoes fried with rosemary and excellent fried and dressed peppers and zucchini. Service was always friendly and helpful. Both of the waiters we met spoke good English and one showed an extensive knowledge of local wines and grape varieties. The proprietor and his wife (she told us that she works elsewhere during the daytime, and that the restaurant is her husband's) were charming and acknowledged us from our first evening. A delightful touch is that the proprietor's wife, whose English is faultless, takes time during the evening to circulate and talk to the diners at their tables, showing genuine interest and concern for all. Prices are very reasonable indeed - it is easy to spend far more in Ravello, and eat more elaborately, but we feel sure the food at Figli di Papa, simple and delicious like the best home cooking, is as good as you will find!

We were visiting the Amalfi Coast as a day trip from Sorrento and after catching the 8:20am bus from Sorrento and stopping to visit Positano and then stopping in Amalfi to catch the bus to Ravello, we were starving when we finally arrived to this picturesque place on the top of the cliff. This restaurant is in a great location, not far from the main strip of shops and the main square or where the bus lets you off.

The restaurant is located in what look like ruins. It’s a very unique space.

The local red wine was very delicious as were our pasta dishes. The price is just right (7-9 euro per dish).

I highly recommend this place if you are on a day trip to the Amalfi Coast and in Ravello needing a place to grab lunch. Ravello is small and it’s a quick walk to Villa Cimbrone or anywhere you’d need to go from this restaurant.
