This hotel was recommended to us by a friend who stopped in to check it out about 2 years ago. We were delighted with our choice. Our room was very clean and comfortable. But what made it a GREAT stay was the personal attention given to us by Antonio. His suggestions and advice for touring the area were excellent. He even parked our car for us every time we returned from a day trip! We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet and complimentary wi-fi. And the views from the hotel are to die for!
We just returned from our trip to the Amalfi coast where we had the privilege of staying in Hotel Parsifal. This hotel is a charming little gem within walking distance to the center of town. We felt at home and treated like family by Antonio and the wonderful staff. Our 3 year old daughter had the time of her life as she was treated like a princess by everyone, including Antonio who was so wonderful with her (she loved feeding the goldfish in the pond!). The view from our room was spectacular (we chose ocean view), the room was nice, clean, with everything you need, but the BEST part was waking up to the smell of freshly baked croissants every morning, which was immediately placed on your table when you walked down for breakfast! Staying in Hotel Parsifal in Ravello was definitely a highlight of my trip to the Amalfi Coast. I would recommend this hotel without any reservation to anyone, particularly those traveling with children.
For years I planned a trip to the Hotel Parsifal because the pictures and reviews looked wonderful. The reality was even better! From the moment we entered the stone archway from the street into the enchanting garden with its view of the cliffs and water, we were charmed..
First, the hotel venue is fantastic. The view of the cliffs and water is superb, and the grounds with colorful flowers and lovely shrubs are impeccably maintained. The hotel is located about an 8-minute walk from the town of Ravello, and on the way into town you will notice shrines and churches built into the hillside. You can also walk down via stairs and paths to sea level to the town of Minori (about 45 minutes) or to Atrani and Amalfi (also under an hour).
Then, there's Antonio, the hotel proprietor and outstanding host who is the heartbeat and soul of the Hotel Parsifal. Somehow Antonio anticipates your every desire and need before you even think of it, and nothing is too much to ask. Since my husband and I enjoy walking, I'm afraid I barraged Antonio with numerous questions about hiking trails, and Antonio was infinitely patient and helpful. He is also extraordinarily perceptive and kind. After traveling halfway across the world to spend 8 nights at the hotel, we felt beautifully looked-after and cosseted by Antonio and his wonderful family.
Breakfasts are ample, with hard-boiled eggs, croissants, cereal, yoghurt, and excellent salami. The cappuccino is very good, although I usually opted for a double espresso with foamed milk on the side to provide an extra boost. Service at the hotel is warm and accommodating, with all staff anxious to ensure your stay is everything you desire.
Our room (#29) was, to my mind, the best in the house due to its patio and views. It had a wonderful patio overlooking the water and mountains. If you visit the hotel website, you can see the exterior of the room on the upper lefthand corner. We dearly loved the patio and the views from inside the room.
If you are looking for plush towels, designer soaps and glitz, the Hotel Parsifal would probably not be your choice. But if you seek a place with serenity, soul, charm, and fabulous staff, then you have found your next vacation spot!
This was our second stay at Hotel Parsifal, and it was even better the second time around! The hotel is an old monastery, and has the charm of an ancient building, mixed with the conveniences necessary of any good hotel. It's family-owned and run, and each member of the family and staff are so kind and welcoming...it feels like returning home each day you're there. We stayed in one of the newly-renovated junior suites, with a gorgeous view of both the original cloister, and the stunning mountain overlook onto the Amalfi Coast below. The air is fresh and clean coming up from the ocean, and the sun in the mornings is lovely. I could have sat on our personal terrace forever just taking in the views. The food at the hotel is great...Antonio and family go out of their way to make you feel like an honored guest each day. We actually received a beautiful bouquet of flowers on our table for Mother's Day this time, and while you're out for dinner, you will arrive back at your room with your bed turned down for you. It's small personal touches like that, that make all the difference, in my view. This place is not pretentious, but meets all your needs of comfort and care while traveling away from home, and then some!
I very much look forward to my next trip to Ravello, and will be back to stay at Hotel Parsifal for certain! Thanks to Antonio, Leonardo, Luciano, Raffaele and the rest of the family, for all the hospitality and fun during our stay :o)
Even though the weather was not what it was supposed to be by end of May, our stay in Ravello was wonderful, also thanks to hotyel Parsifal and Antonio. We had a wonderful room with no frills but with as functional bathroom and a comfortable bed Antonio brought us breakfast on our private terrace with stunning views of the sea and the mountains. Antonio went out of his way to make the perfect photograph in the (scarse) morning sun. Antonio also took care of my suit, which got badly stained on the way from Naples airport to Ravello, being take to the cleaners in Amalfi for me to pick up the next day. We had dinner at the hotel's Raffaelo restaurant. The food was fine at a reasonable price, the scenery could use some improvements (removing the faded plant, nicer lighting).
