This hotel is very expensive, but it delivers on all fronts. The views on the website are spot one. I could not imagine a better view in Italy. Wow. The grounds are perfectly groomed with beautiful plants and flowers. The service is amazing. Anthony and his crew at the front desk made a lot of great recommendations for dinner, a boat ride to Capri, and a breathtaking venue for a concert at the Ravello Music Festival. The stay at the Palazzo was the highlight of our trip. It is truly an experience of a lifetime. The town of Ravello is a piece of heaven.
The rooms are a little small because the hotel is not large, maybe 45 rooms. The bed, linens and other room amenities are 5 stars. The hotel has a private beach about 15 minutes down the mountain or you can lay out by the pool and look at the incredible Almalfi coastline. The breakfast in the morning was very good with the same views. I did not want breakfast to end. We did dine at Rossellini's at night, the hotel's best restaurant. I would highly recommend this experience. The views and the service is amazing. We ordered the tasting menu, one for meat and one for seafood. Personally, I did not care for some of the choices on the seafood tasting menu so I would recommend ordering individually off the menu. This is a very romantic dining experience with impeccable service so it was worth it.
Ravello is a charming and small city away from the crowds of summer. We stopped in Amalfi, Capri and Positano. They were beautiful and busy cities, but Ravello blew it away by comparison. Ravello is located about halfway up the mountain. It is so charming and beautiful with a good number of restaurants around the square and cathedral. it has such a wonderful vibe. Once you go to Ravello, I cannot imagine going to any other city on the Amalfi coast. I found it by luck, through the AMX fine hotels program.
I would highly recommend Palazzo Avino if you can afford it. Even if you cannot, save up and treat yourself for it is an amazing experience. It truly is an experience of a lifetime.
